Will They Now Stop Blaming Women, Bill Clinton, and Gays? |
|
Today Jim Hightower and Amy Goodman of Democracy Now pointed out the John Ashcroft appionted a man to oversee the reopening of the Iraqi prisons who was known for condoning abusive policies within the prison system. The mans name was Lance McCotter. According to Jim Hightower, "In Utah, McCotter was forced to resign after a mentally-ill inmate was stripped naked and strapped to a chair for 16 hours. The inmate collasped and died-a death McCotter's administration tried to cover up as a suicice." Also, just months before McCotter went to Iraq, the Justice Department released a report detailing the inhumane conditions within the New Mexico prison system, which was run by McCotter's company.
For weeks the conservatives have been blaming the Abu Garib prison scandal on women, Bill Clinton, and gays. Since this new information has come I hope that now the conservatives will stop blaming everyone else and just admit this was the Bush Administration's fault. It was they who decided to let this man oversee the reopening or the prisons.

3. promotion and reward of torture in our prison and military is deliberate |
|
It's 100% purposeful, and being rewarded and promoted by fanatics of all types. It's a major, extremely serious issue and I hope the Democratic party will make it a priority. We're literally talking about the foundations of human rights and western culture here.

5. You're asking the leopard to change its spots. It won't happen. |
|
And I'm sorry to say that.
This dark age that we've entered into with BushCo leading the way is terribly depressing at best, and truly evil at worst.

7. Who else would they blame? |
|
They would have to take responsibility for their actions, but that's a big No-No with that administration.

Edited to add link: http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/30/arts/30RICH.htmlAnd your facts have been known for some time (they were in a NYT article, discussed on Unfilteres last week). They do have the media however, and in the end it will be the damn libruls' fault, so there.
