wow. things are starting to break hard against the PREZ
I'm loving it, but I won't believe it until we spike that mofo in November to the tune of a 250 electoral vote margin.

Cheney/Halliburton scandal. Abu Graib prison scandal simmering still. Valerie Plame leak scandal. Cheney energy task force/Enron audio tapes implicating administration as their loyal servants. Troubling job losses to offset job gains. Humongous oil increases due to mismanagement of energy policy (or management of policy toward the big oil guys, huh? ya think)

They are starting to become too numerous to recount in one sitting. It could well be a death by a thousand cuts. Nothing every bubbles up to the surface in the form of absolute rock bottom loss of support from even the strong supporters but just enough of a steady drip to keep people anxious, annoyed, and bummed about America.

They will say America needs a change and will vote the NON-incumbent in.

All we gotta do is work with Dem leadership and grassroots progressives to figure out how to neutralize Nader and we're really home free.

Just keep preaching the word, sending money, and hoping.

We can get this guy out of there. Get a substantial % of the GOP losers running the house and possibly if things really stink by November, get the Senate back. Then we can get some stuff done that will help us claw back to some amount of international respectability and self worth.

What a sucky 3 1/2 years it's been.

1. This election should be a landslide...
You are correct. I think a ham sandwich has a better chance of getting elected President than Bush does. Kerry will crush the chimp in November.

5. Kerry can be FDR II if he wants to ...
Kerry can erase the shame of the Bush clan from American history if he chooses to step up to the plate. He'll piss off a lot of his aristocratic friends - and Greenspan and the banks will viciously attack him - but if Kerrry wants, he's the Man. They will write songs about him - IF he does the right thing.

I'm a cynic - I'm not holding my breath.

10. Let hope a ham sandwich doesn't get on the ballot
because all the repugs and indies who won't vote for Kerry no matter what, will elect it.

2. Add to that the ammo dump explosion in Kirkuk .
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 08:46 PM by JaySherman
Possibly with massive U.S. casualties. That's not going to sit well with people either.

It's not looking good for BushCo. We've got to get him out of there so we can bring the troops home.

edit: The only thing better that kicking their asses in November would getting them frog-marched out of the WH beforehand. It's still unlikely but with the way things are breaking, it's no longer an impossibility. We can only hope.

Better retain that lawyer Shrub. You're gonna need him.

19. Ha ha! I thought "Wow, this poster has

one weird-looking cat if it looks like the collie/ sheltie style dog in the photo."

Then I saw the grey cat next to the collie or sheltie.

Well, you had to be there (in my mind), I guess, but trust me, it was funny. ;-)

3. Tipping Point
We may have finally reach the point where the media is not turning a blind eye to these stories. It appears that voters are slowly beginning to realize what a horrible president Bush has been.

4. CBS is responsible for breaking a number of these stories haven't they?
I think they have made a decision to go after this adminstration, and hope they keep piling it on.

6. CBS. owned by same Viacom as owns Comedy Central
which is another breath of fresh air. I like the tenacity of a number of mainstream media like the NBC guy.

I just can't wait til the idiots in cable news realize the real ratings will be with telling the truth rather than being paid stooges attempting to prop up this feeble, corrupt administration.

CNN....ever since it went the AOL/Time/Warner way it's been a pile-o-dung.

For awhile there, Peter Jennings was the only one telling it like it is on evening news.

Glad CBS has joined forces with them. Let's keep the echo chamber going.

12. CBS-Viacom: Is this payback for Janet's boob?
I think we may be witnessing a concerted attack on Bushco by a very pissed-off media conglomerate.

Just consider what the Bushies and the GOP have done to CBS and Viacom over the past year:

They forced CBS to move The Reagans miniseries to cable.
They dragged CBS and Viacom through the mud over Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction."
The FCC and the GOP-controlled Congress are trying to destroy Howard Stern and his Viacom radio program.

Add to this volatile mix Dan Rather's penchant for being a thorn in the Bush family's side, as well as David Letterman & Jon Stewart's relentless jabs, and we just might have the Perfect Storm.

I don't know what to make of the sudden departure of Mel Karmazin, and whether that's going to change anything. As far as I can tell though, ideologically, both Karmazin and Sumner Redstone are generally Democratic supporters, having given only token donations to the occasional GOPer. (opensecrets.org)

11. Lots of lurking issues
The number issues out there for the BA to deal with is so high that I'm worried that we forget or let fade those from weeks ago while scurrying to the new daily problem. The Plame issue has been lurking and is now catching fire....other lurking issues that could burst into flames include:

9/11 Commission report
Sibel Edmonds (what is status?)
$700,000,000 of Afganistan money moved illegally to Irag planning
Deceiving Congress on Medicare
Bribing congressman on Medicare vote
Showing secret war plans to foreign leader (can't believe we're not talking about this)
Bush Harken insider trading
Cheney Halliburton insider trading
Halliburton no-bid contracts
Start of Iraq Commission (wonder when?)
Energy task force SCOTUS findings
Guantanamo detainee SCOTUS findings
Eating crow on global warming
Clinton Book
Moore movie
Why did Bush turn over only 1/3 of 11,000 documents Clinton gave to him to forward to 9/11 Commission?
Chalabi secrets mess

And this list doen't even include the exotic conspiracy-theory issues.

To keep these (and more, I'm sure) alive in our public debate, someone should include this list as a matrix on a website, with the issue, latest developments, and expected resolution shown. Show even those issues that have come and have been put to bed. The total list of problems of ineptitude and deceipt would be very long and its sheer weight would prove the point that this administration is different from all others that have come before....

13. WOW^^^^^GREAT IDEA^^^^REALLY!
I think this should get it's very own new thread. We should have a DU "threat matrix" that has base index of top 25 or 30 scandals ranging from the war in the first place based on lies to the one you mentioned I'd forgotten about--moving money secretly from Afghanistan funding to Iraq war planning. That could be one of the biggest and just isn't as sexy for average person as naked people pyramids.

ADMINS? ANY THOUGHTS?

Those red light boards. Run ther scandals across there. They won't be able to escape the sheer volume of unresolved scandals

Are those red light boards legal for your rear window?

not specifically a Scandal board running the latest but the idea of keying in choice "sayings" to other drivers on the freeway. Have a war words with your fellow road warriors rather than get too upset.

But...I guess there must be some kind of issue with them. Otherwise, wouuldn't I see them all the time?

Anyway...good idea.

14. A couple more issues
-Torturegate-More is going to come up in the upcoming court martials. I expect this to go up the chain of command right to Rumsfeld and to Bush. More pictures will also be leaked at some point.
-Paddilo/enemy combatants (SCOTUS ruling)
-Draft-the latest stop loss orders show that Bush will have to bring the draft back.

15. and using Department of Interior funds to pay for mercenaries to
torture and kill Iraqi prisoners...

and hiring known American rapists and murderers (who developed their skills in America's prison system) to torture and kill Iraqi prisoners in the Iraq prisons...

gosh: there's actually quite a few sub-section scandals in the Iraqi prisoner sex-torture snuff scandal....more sub-sections are revealed almost daily....

AND there's a HUGE amount of contracting scandals, tough to keep track of, permeates every section of OUR government now....government contracting for bush* is more like money-laundering to his criminal 'friends', who then donate a large service-fee to bush* campaign fund....and nothing ever gets done for the taxpayers money...

20. Jobs!!! and how to create them.....The Bushies went for the Fear thing
and now we got 75869780029284 new jobs at the airports security check ins. We got all those good people with rubber gloves and pinched noses going thru our soiled panties and smelly socks as they do our luggage. And some company had to make all those X ray machines. and all these jobs are short term but the Bushies don care. They jus want job numbers to go up up up.
