Make your predictions here: Who will be the next to resign? |
|
Scooter Libby? Wolfowitz?
More resignations have to be coming. Who outed Valerie Plame? Who divulged intelligence secrets to Chalabi while drunk? So many crooks; so little time for them to resign before they are booted out in November.

1. I don't know if Rove will be next... |
|
...but before Election Day, I predict that he'll have to sacrifice himself to save whatever remains of Bush's waning credibility.

Might be Rumsfeld, or Cheney (for heart reasons), but my biggest bet is on Condi. Powell may surprise us, but I think that Condi has had it, knows how bad she's f*cked up and doesn't like being called on it in public. She has also had it with the total mess-up inside the WH since Karen Hughes first left.
Not that Hughes is back, and Rove and she play backstabbing "tag, you're it" the place is coming apart at the seems.
Rove loves the power too much to let go. And shrub relies on his power-evil-ways too much to have him leave.

During the press conference, he referred to "Secretary of State Rumsfeld..."
Freudian slip or a genuine fuck-up?

As more sordid information leaks out, the press will take the position that he was the 'mastermind' who kept poor Rumsfeld in the dark. He's got no power friends, so if he has any sense, he'll get a good lawyer and jump quick.

I like Libby or Cambone. Maybe Douglas Feith. Tenet will be the BIG sacrificial lamb; there will be two or three little ones. Then the backlash will crank up: Haven't we done enough? What will it take to satisfy you Bush haters? Wah, wah, wah, you're all so mean!

more than one pardon handed out on Jan 19th, 2005, if Dubya loses, and they'll be given to the biggest crooks and liars in his admin. Who started this Presidential Pardon business, anyway?

15. The pattern thus far: |
|
The people who have resigned so far have been "competent." They all had a job to do, but were ultimately repulsed by the extremist politics of the Bushistas, or were forced out because they weren't "team players" who "thought outside the box" (i.e. willfully practiced or championed incompetence).
The only two names that come to mind are Powell and Armitage -- and I don't see that happening any time soon.
The incompetents are circling the wagons within the White House. They will not give up -- even if it means destroying our nation.
Let's face it -- fear of gay marriage and opposition to abortion are not going to be enough to retain the WH for the Bushistas: one of their agents will strike the US, a la the Anthrax Assassin in a last desperate attempt to hold onto power. Are you ready for it?
