Like the beginning of the end for Nixon.

1. I think so.
I've tried to think of a wide range of reasons/causes for this .... none of them seem to be in bush's favor. The only way it happened because bush or cheney wanted it to would be because the administration is veering sharply to the right .... which seems unlikely, because they ARE the extreme right.

2. What are the odds that resignees from now to the election....
....will be replaced by a permanent nominee for any office? They must be pretty bad because it is likely that the Senate confirmation process would be unkind to the misadministration.

3. Wonkette Had A Good Point
With Dimbo in Europe, the White House big-league reporters will follow him to Europe. This suggests that they won't be around this weekend to report anything else that may happen in Washington this weekend.

4. It's nothing like the SNM
SNM was about how govt figures were fired for not obeying Nixon's orders to drop the investigation into Nixon's tapes. IOW, people lost their jobs for doing the right thing. Tenet did not lose his job for doing the right thing.

BTW, guess which "honorable" person agreed to comply with Nixon's order?

SCOTUS nominee Bork.
