Gulliani (sp.?) for Head of CIA??? |
|
I kept flipping around all day to see if I could get a take on what kind of crap was going to crawl out of the woodwork on this Tenent thing. I never watch Fox...hate it....but caught it in mid-click and went back. Bingo. Some dude was suggesting that there would not be time, etc. for the picking of a new CIA director BEFORE elections but after there was talk of Gulliani. Since Fox has a direct feeding tube to Rove, I wonder if this is the bullshit they are going to float for the next five months. Remember people kept talking about ousting Cheney and putting Rudy on the ticket but that would not look good for Bush if he dumped Cheney (plus he can't function without him). But here's a way to do the "a new dream team is coming" crap. And then later in the day I heard someone else on one of the other cable channels bring up the name. This game stinks---and it is a game. I'm waiting to see how many times in the next couple days Rudy's name is thrown around. If I hear it often, then I know just how set up this whole thing is.

3. I know---what the hell would his qualifications be?? |
|
But the propaganda value to Bush (beloved at home and abroad)---oh, I can see Bush/Rove using this as a ploy--very definitely. These guys will sink to anything and I'm sure we have some depths coming down the pike that we haven't even yet imagined.

For the DCI job, you'd be looking for a candidate who has some executive experience -- which I will admit Guiliani has -- but also some specific job-related skills, such as graduate level education in foreign policy, international relations, military strategy, diplomatic experience, language skills -- *something* that is at least marginally germaine to the work that CIA does. Does Guiliani have any of that stuff?
Or does he just look good in a suit?

4. With his history of sexcapades and ripping off $$ after 911... |
|
if we had a real media, they would have a field day.....
Howard Fineman told Franken today that the inside track would be on Porter Goss...former CIA himself, "well-liked" in Congress

5. Guiliani was a very effective prosecutor - |
|
If that loony Asskraft resigns, Guiliani would make a very politically helpful Attorney General.

7. Yes - Manhattan Institute fascists |
|
Check out Guiliani's links the the fascist/racist Manhattan Institute. Then read http://www.waragainsttheweak.com for the tradition Guliani's coming from. I can see why they want him at CIA.
