I was just blown away by the number of anti-bush books I saw in B&N today
Went to Barnes and Noble today for the first time in several weeks. Was absolutely bowled over by how many different anti-shrub books there were, and displayed very prominently, no less.

The I Hate Bush Reader (I have the I Hate Republicans Reader, didn't know there was one just for Chucklenuts) slayed me. There were so many I can't even list them all, I am blanking out.

The pro-bush books were outnumbered at least 10 to 1. So my question is was it always this way? Or has shrub inspired a lot of writers in the last few years?

I was delightfully surprised to say the least. And the HUGE sign in the window encouraging people to pre-order Big Dog's book made me smile. The sign was all over the place inside, too.

1. Chucklenuts.... now that's a new one!
I keep expecting the New Yorker cartoon by Roz Chast featuring the
all Bush-bashing bookstore.

Bush is the all time champion when it comes to inspiring angry
writers--and nickname inventors.

2. It's actually
Chucklenuts JUNIOR, or Baby Chucklenuts, if you will.

I read it somewhere a while back and can't remember where so I can't attribute it to anyone now. But it was referring to shrub.

4. I actually liked the term "Whistle-ass"
Coined by the woman in Wisconsin(?) whose obituary asked that in lieu of flowers, please donate to whoever's running against Bush.

3. It's a recent development
A year ago it was a bunch of freeper books, but the success of Michael Moore and Al Franken convinced pubs that the market existed for lefty books too. But yes, now there's a virtual glut of them as everyone tries to hit the opening at once. A lot of humor books making fun of the President too.
