Bush gets away with the WMD lies!
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 12:24 AM by dennis4868
Of all of Bush lies and horrible crimes against our country and the world, the one that upsets me the most are the lies and exaggerations of the WMD in Iraq before the war. It seems like even Dems (even Senator Levin) is now blamimg Tenet for the WMD fiasco and not Bush.

But what about this article from over a year ago before the war?

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3340723/

Why is it that the mainstreem media and even the Dems are not going after Bush for lieing to us about WMD in Iraq before the war? Why does this scandal no longer have any legs? How did Rove do this? It is 100% clear that Bush lied about it. Bush, before the start of the war, kept saying things to congress and the American people about Saddam and WMD that were not in any intelligence report (i.e., unmanned aerial drones, uranium from niger, alluminum tubes, chemical mobile labs, reconstitution of the Iraqi nuclear weapons program). If all the above was not evidenced in any intelligence report why was Bush saying it? Because he knew he could fool the people and Congress. And he did and now he is not being held accountable for the lies....not to mention the lies about the connection between Saddam and al Qaeda/911.

So am I right? Is Bush forever off the hook for these lies? Why is Senator Levin going easy on Bush now over this issue?

2. "Not if Karen Kwiatkowski gets her day in the sun."
But that is my point. She is not getting her day in the sun. The mainstreem media is ignoring her 100%.

5. I don't know....
about 6 months ago when the senate intelligence committee was holding hearings Levin was great. He even had a copy of the carnegie endownment for international peace report on Iraq's WMD and Bush lies about it. He was very tough on Bush and was blaming him for the WMD lies. I did not watch Levin today but heard he was awful. What exactly did he say?

4. The problem is, they have spun it as an "intelligence failure"
Not bush's intelligence failure, unfortunately, but a failure of the CIA and DIA in particular to give reliable information to the president. Never mind that Feith & co set up shop in the analysts' digs to cherrypick intel for administrative consumption; now that Tenet has fallen on his sword for bush, it will be very hard to rectify this perception.

13. They = bushco and the media whores
> Levin was not falling for it....now he is?

Who knows what Levin thinks? But it's possible Levin is letting out even more rope, or has concerns about his constituency. Now that the public has been conned into thinking bush got faulty information from the intelligence agencies, it gets that much harder to call him a liar straight up.

8. He did not get away with these lies...
The general public knows that he lied. The quote in my signature is proving itself true, as it has many times before.

Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 12:50 AM by dennis4868
i dont think the general public knows that he lied. They watch TV and no one on TV is being brought on anymore to describe how Bush and his thugs went about misleading and fooling congress and the country into war.

10. I stick to my line....
Everyone I communicate with in my daily passings, being strangers, familiars, family or coworkers....Republican, Democrat, or Independant, realize that the pretense for the Iraq war was false. Of course to many of them it doesn't matter, but these people still do not deny it.

The Bush Administration was so confident they'd find expired chemicals in Iraq that they pounded the term "WMD" indelibly into the minds of all Americans, and they have not forgotten. The true believers go to extraordinary lengths to rationalize thier continued pro-war stance, though.

11. Perhaps you are right.....
but I am sick and tired of watching and reading every day how it is not Bush's fault that the CIA screwed up. Just look at the article I posted above...CIA did not screw up, Bush lied and many people died. But the damn media is once again giving Bush a pass and making Tenet the scapegoat for Bush lies. And now even Levin, my hero only a few months ago, is not blaming Bush, OSP, PNAC, etc...for the intelligence on Iraq....sickening!

12. In the end it doesn't matter....
only violent attacks on America can keep Bush in office. And even those may not boost his popularity at this point, given that the people who support him believe he is the best at protecting this country.

Unless voting scam comes into play heavily again, John Kerry is the next President of the United States.
