DU has eaten FR

If you think about it, FR is pretty irrelevant now - just a bunch of sieg heiling jackboots psyching each other up with a circle jerk.

DU has eclipsed FR because we allow Freepers here and they come in droves. We don't allow blantant disruption, but we do allow well behaved people of any viewpoint to engage in discussion. So this minimized the relevance of FR because it doesn't really serve much of a useful purpose.

In other words, a closed mind can't take in anything. Freepers are better off spending their time on DU, because they can affect change or at least engage in discussion where they can make valid points.

A thread on FR amounts to locker room mentality, a bunch of people agreeing to something in lockstep, but no actual discussion. All it serves is an affirmation of their faith.

...I go to FR on a daily basis to check out what the Freeps are up to. It used to be a lot more interesting than it is now. The Bush-bots have purged a lot of the more intelligent and freethinking posters and the place has become a ditto-head echo chamber.

to churches ("exists to reaffirm repetitive dogma") and schools ("tries to distill the truth") may be reversed in many cases. It all depends on the individual church/ individual school. I've had a fair amount of experience with both schools and churches and have seen both "kinds" of each.
