"It's called capitalism."
Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 07:03 AM by dumpster_baby
This artIcle on the "Bilderberg: The ultimate conspiracy theory" from the BBC ends with a quote of pure, unvarnished truth. Who wudda thunk?!

Some excerpts:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The Bilderberg group, an elite coterie of Western thinkers and power-brokers, has been accused of fixing the fate of the world behind closed doors. As the organisation marks its 50th anniversary, rumours are more rife than ever.
....

That activists have seized on Bilderberg is no surprise to Alasdair Spark, an expert in conspiracy theories.

"The idea that a shadowy clique is running the world is nothing new. For hundreds of years people have believed the world is governed by a cabal of Jews.

"Shouldn't we expect that the rich and powerful organise things in their own interests. It's called capitalism."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
END STORY QUOTES
>>>>>>>>>>>>>

OK, yeah. I can definitely buy into that!

1. I am not sure we are a caste society but we are one of class.
If you recall, only men who owned property could vote when this country was founded and all knew how you voted. It was not a closed vote.A few have moved up and one of the greatest thing was the GI bill and it was a govt program.

3. Isn't Edwards going to the Bilderberger meeting this year?
Too bad, I like Edwards and hope he doesn't get involved with these people.

4. well the only supposed benefit of capitalism results from competition
not monopolies, not conspiracies, not collusion, not ogilopolies.

People who think that being "procapitalism" means that it's okay for the powerful to cheat, lie, and steal, are

a. idiots

b. criminal.

Imagine a basketball game where the Lakers were allowed to tie the members of the other team to chairs, then Shaquille O'Neal just stood under the basket and dunked one ball after another with no opposition.

That's what capitalism is turning into in the United States
