What an incredibly dishonest poll |
|
http://www.wbal.com/shows/elliott/Gives absolutely no viable choices. Please un-conservative wacko it and chastise the host of this radio show for not actually providing any real choice. Maybe he's afriad of what people would really think.

"The impression that Bush was dishonest...." That seems to be the best of the choices.

Would you say Atilla the Hun is doing:
An excellent job? A good job? A terrible job?

7. I voted other and commented: |

The fact that FDR vigorously pursued the war against Japan, who attacked us, and Germany, who declared war on us, instead of invading another country which was not involved. Mexico for example.
Roosevelt also probably wasn't aided and abetted by slimy, disingenuous polls by shills such as you.

I chose "Other reasons not listed," and added this comment:
Gee.... maybe because Bush exploited 9/11 to hype us into fighting an unnecessary war? Put the Kool-Aid down and start thinking, Mr. Elliott.

We were attacked by terrorists from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. If President Bush had stayed the course in the War on Terrorism, instead of pursuing the PNAC neo-con goals, we would have more bi-partisan support. (Not to mention more troops home with their families instead of fighting for another country''s sovreignity, and more money in our Treasury.)

11. My rather long-winded "other"... |
|
WWII had been going on for more than two years before Pearl Harbor. European and African countries had been overrun and occupied by fascist troops. Japan's nationalistic fervor was apparent in the way it attacked Manchuria. Americans were expecting to go to war sooner than later, and they became united against a common enemy. The survival of free democratic nations worldwide was clearly at stake. Americans understood this danger, and pitched in.
The so-called "war on terror" is more like chasing smoke -- it has never been made clear just who the enemy is (Osama? Saddam? Saudis? Taliban? Islamic fundamentalists?), or where they are located (Afghanistan? Iraq? The U.S.? The entire Middle East?), nor did Bush harness the post-9/11 global goodwill for the U.S. -- that asset was foolishly squandered by insistence on a unilateral invasion of Iraq. Unlike FDR during WWII, we currently have a president who is not supported by a majority of the American people. They are wise to the fact that he isn't an effective leader, and that much of what comes out of his mouth is rarely truth.

13. Thanks for the heads up on taking the poll. |
|
Unlike certain right wing sites. We don't tell each other what to vote, we simply make each other aware of the poll.
Here's a gem from the poll comments, though:
"Liberals will do ANYTHING to get back in power. They would engineer the complete and total distruction of our country simnply to be in power. It''s as if this is Germany in the 30''s and Bush is the Jews. 6/4/2004 8:26:22 AM "
Okay.. so we can't compare Bush to Hitler, but this moran likened Bush to the Jews in the 1930's. Can anyone be any more confused than that writer?

Bush lied, and lied, and continues lying. There is no real choice in your poll, except pseudo-choices blaming everybody else except Bush, who is the idiot in charge. This is NOT A PARTISAN ISSUE. It is a corporate oily LIARS issue. 6/4/2004 4:18:04 PM

I know it's hard to be polite when someone is not being polite to you, but rude responses are only filling this guy's wish list.
From the site:
"I view myself as a conservative who welcomes opposing viewpoints. However, over the past decade, there has been a change in the rhetoric employed by the left, and that has made a genuine exchange of perspectives and ideas across political lines much more difficult. It’s not easy to talk with someone who instinctively resorts to personal attacks or name calling instead of advancing a political philosophy. While I sometimes think that the real problem is the left’s lack of a cohesive political philosophy to advance, I’m committed to that exchange wherever I can find it."
Yeah, they started it... but how often did that work with your parents? If you have kids that use it, does it work with you?

18. voted "bush dishonest" |
|
my comments:
i wonder where you are trying to lead people with this poll. wait, actually it's obvious. i voted the only semi-honest choice available, although, i did take note of the wording. that bush/cheney and the other pentagon neocons were dishonest about the facts leading up to the invasion and occupation is more than an "impression." another example of how cowardly bush apologists are. sham polls only highlight this.
right now the polling stands as such:
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, fighting in World War II was a never a partisan political issue as the War on Terror has become. Why is this? The current Democratic leaders are trying to refight the issues of the Vietnam era. (2.66%) The current Democratic creed is: Blame America first. (11.70%) The impression that Bush was not honest with the facts leading up to the war. (37.23%) Japan war more of a threat to mainland America than is Islamist terrorism. (2.13%) As Japan's ally, Hitler must have been involved in the attack and he had to be stopped. (0.00%) Today's media is more partisan than the ones who covered WWII. (6.38%) All of the above. (8.51%) Other reason not listed. (31.38%)
