HOLY CRAP! 500,000 protesting in Rome...Now that's a Protest!
BTW: I got this from the Moonie Times... I love it!

Rome, Italy, Jun. 4 (UPI) -- Thousands filled Rome's streets Friday to protest President Bush's visit and their own country's involvement in the Iraq war, CNN reported.

Police deployed some 10,000 officers around Rome as an estimated 500,000 protested Bush's arrival and Italy's active support of the U.S. war in Iraq.

3. Is it like in the USA that if they say 500,000 you should automatically
multiply times 2?

4. Wonder if Shrub realizes how much people really don't like him?
Somebody keeps the protestors away from wherever he appears here in the States, all his speaches, and surely every TV camera.

This same thing has happened in almost all the foreign countries he's visited.

I suppose he must know, and simply doesn't care!

6. Well if 500,000 peoples votes didn't matter in 2000
I'm sure that 500,000 people protesting anything doesn't matter. Now if they were either 50 republicans, or were 50 people with guns, it sure as hell would matter.

8. Earlier today I saw a Yahoo! story that said 25,000
That's the police estimate, and I just read a BBC story comparing that figure to the organizers' estimate of 150,000.

Bush should be worried about stepping onto French soil. Watch for more protesters there.

15. Had a discussion about protests with a friend
This was in the pre-invasion days and I remarked on the huge numbers of protestors (Spain, I think).

Response: Oh, hell there are always protestors when a president visits. A lot of these folks hate the US. There were protestors when Clinton was prez, etc.

My Response: but look at the NUMBERS! Yes, there may have been a few hundred "America haters" when Clinton visits. But there are tens of thousands of protestors in these cases. That's a huge difference.

Sometimes I wish I had a "noo-kew-lar" cluestick.

18. Musolini - er - Berlusconi - "declared the protests a flop" so there

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi offered his verdict on the demonstrations in Rome, declaring them "a flop." Berlusconi made the comment to reporters as President Bush and the first lady climbed out of their limousine for dinner with the prime minister.

Where is the outrage here in the United States???

Nobody here wants to interrupt their cookouts and American Idol voting.
