FRom today's Le Monde: The "I" word.
America, it would appear, understands the gravity of the moment. Public opinion, the press and Congress are vigorously playing the roles assigned to them in a democracy. Investigations are underway that will shake the entire military and civilian structure of the Pentagon. But the Secretary of Defense, while recognizing his responsibility, refuses to resign, and President Bush has, at least for the moment, chosen to minimize the problem.

At his Inauguration, the President of the United States swears "to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." If this promise has been betrayed, it is up to the Congress to protect the nation.

In plain English, impeachment, the first step towards removal of the President from office.

that said, you have a partial point, but the wheels are
now fully in play... what you hear is the wheels of justice
starting to grind up and finally working.

3. From your lips to God's ears, Nadin....
I hope it IS the wheels of justice starting to grind up, rather than just more spin.

4. Not "today's"....
I just went to the "Le Monde" website, nothing there. Then I went to Bizzflash, and it would seem that that article was originally published on 12 May, so it's three weeks old.
