Zinni's truthful qoute discribing this evil administration ......
"In the lead-up to the Iraq War and its later conduct, I saw at a minimum, true dereliction, negligence, and irresponsibility, at worse, lying, incompetence and corruption."... General Zinni

he was great on CNN today

2. Also Catch Clancy conversation with Norville yesterday?
...

NORVILLE: And Paul Wolfowitz.

CLANCY: Is he really on our side?

NORVILLE: You genuinely ask that question? Is he on our side?

CLANCY: I sat in on—I was in the Pentagon in ‘01 for a red team operation and he came in and briefed us. And after the brief, I just thought, is he really on our side? Sorry.

3. What I liked about Zinni is that he voted for Bush in 2000 and
in an interview he said that he is registered Republican. When he was asked if he'd vote for Bush again, he said something like "not if he keeps the people responsible for that mess" (e.g., Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, etc.).

He represents those Republicans who are so dissatisfied with this Administration and the whole mess he created, that they wouldn't vote at all.

More and more people feel that way. The viewer Republicans vote, the better. We might not be able to convince them to vote for Kerry, but not voting for Bush is almost as good.

Edited on Fri Jun-04-04 06:11 PM by ElsewheresDaughter
"Clancy recalled a prewar encounter in Washington during which he "almost came to blows" with Richard Perle, a Pentagon adviser at the time and a longtime advocate of the invasion."

7. then he realized he'd actually have to touch Perle ....
so he changed his mind.

Who'd want to touch that guy, even if you were kicking his ass?

He's disgusting. He looks like your fist would just sink into his flesh and maggots would come wriggling out.

11. Bunnypants IS a neocon. Why does everyone pretend he's not??
He didn't sign the PNAC document like Jeb did because they were planning to run the fool for Prez, but why would you think he does not believe the philosophy. Every action indicates he does.

10. but not voting for Bush is almost as good. ~ I think better
If they don't bother to go to the polls and vote we may pick up some Congressional seats as well. There are more on the ballot than just President and Vice-President.

6. How can they deny him?
They can say what they want about Dick Clarke. They can paint the picture of him being a disgruntled former employee... But these other guys...Bob Woodward, Tony Zinni, Randy Beers...
They don't have shit on these guys. Woodward uncovered Watergate! And Zinni, Beers, these other guys know much more about effective defense policies than these other clowns whose only military experience comes from sending other peoples' children off to die.

8. another great Zinni quote
from here:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/05/21/60minutes/main618896.shtml

(snip)
“I can't speak for all generals, certainly. But I know we felt that this situation was contained. Saddam was effectively contained. The no-fly, no-drive zones. The sanctions that were imposed on him,” says Zinni.

“Now, at the same time, we had this war on terrorism. We were fighting al Qaeda. We were engaged in Afghanistan. We were looking at 'cells' in 60 countries. We were looking at threats that we were receiving information on and intelligence on. And I think most of the generals felt, let's deal with this one at a time. Let's deal with this threat from terrorism, from al Qaeda.”
(snip)

Gee, that's what Colin Powell said in early 2001. Saddam was contained, done deal.
