Is Shrub killing off Raygun to garner sympathy votes? |
|
Think about it. An outpouring of sympathy is just the shot in the arm * needs in the polls right now. I wouldn't be surprised.

1. He wouldn't kill him, but I expect alot of Reagan themes |

to appear in Bush's upcoming speeches. In the same way he'd hit 9/11 over the sheeple's heads, we can expect to hear about "the Gipper."

his mother dresses up as a nurse and sneaks past the Secret Service detail surrounding Reagan and shoots him up with undetectable drugs, all so her son can get a 3 point boost in the polls five months before the election.
It's the only obvious answer, because what are the odds of a 93 year old man with advanced alzheimers just up and dying?

the paranoia is getting just a little bit silly. * is slime, but there's really nothing suspicious about this. Reagan's been slipping away for a long time now, and it's not even that close to the election. I'm sure they'll get some political mileage out of it, but I highly doubt there's anything nefarious going on.

As far as the public is concerned they will be amazed that it is news. They think he was dead years ago. Why would anyone give a shit. Of course Peggy Noonan and many other insane morans should be put on suicide watch. That is their pathology.

14. Yeah, what's the big deal... |
|
There seems to be a sentiment that Reagan's death, when it happens, will produce a big Republican revival. I don't see it.
He's been effectively dead for years. Hasn't been seen in public. There will be a big funeral. Maybe Bush gets to speak on TV.
But it all gets preempted by the next disaster in Iraq.

10. Way, way too early for that ... |
|
It would have no effect on the election.
Now, if they announced that Reagan had died three days before the November election, that would be another story.

I stole it from "Spherical Asshole"--reportedly uttered by a famous engineer about his soon-to-be former boss.

15. we would be stupid to miss the opportunity to remind the world |
|
of the criminal misdeeds of Reagan and his Repuke scum buddies-- remember Iran-Contra? Central American death squads? S&L scandals?
In the midst of what I predict will be nauseating media praises and glorification of the stupid bumbler I will take great delight in reminding everyone that he was nothing but a traitor who went unpunished.
remember, a "problem" (ie, theoretical "sympathy votes" for the scumball B*sh) is always really an opportunity.

19. Why not October? Of course, * has always been an idiot... |
|
The American public has a collective memory of 2 weeks. They won't remember all that Bush* has done against this country and the world. They will vote out of sympathy.
That's how it was when Wellstone died. It was spun, by republicans, into a political event for themselves. (That's not to say Dems were innocent in all this, Rick Kahn did his best to help the repukes win too)
Can the Dems do the same thing with Reagan, or will our backlash be spun? Or will they?
