Bush denies blame for rift with France

By BENNETT ROTH -- June 4, 2004

ROME -- President Bush accepts no blame for a bitter diplomatic rift with France, but he may finally offer French President Jacques Chirac a little Texas hospitality.

Bush, scheduled to meet with Chirac tonight in Paris, was asked in an interview with Paris Match magazine what went wrong with the U.S.-French alliance that was first forged during the American Revolutionary War.

"You need to talk to the French leadership," Bush responded tersely in the May 28 interview.

----snip----

The president also indicated Chirac might be asked to visit to his Crawford ranch, an invitation extended only to favored leaders.

On the other hand, the potential invitation was hinted out with minimal enthusiasm.

"If he wants to come and see some cows, he's welcome to come out there and see some cows," Bush said.

1. BULLSHIT!
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 04:44 AM by FDRrocks
The rift was created by his bullshit lies during the buildup to Iraq.

YOU'D THINK THE SPIRIT OF GOEBBELS WAS SITTING BEHIND HIM!!!!!

Fuck it, we didn't attack Iraq. Iraq started war by not accepting our terms. France obviously disagreed with our 'reasonable' propositions b/c they want to see the United States destroyed.... oh wait... that sounds familiar. Is Iraq gaelic for Poland?

8. Bush isn't trying mend fences...
...he's looking for the photo ops on television news as he does every freaking day of the week to help his terribly impaired stature with the dumbed down American public.

12. that is the way of this bully
he will take the lying high ground. It will be repeated, several times over and people, most especially dumb Americans, will believe it.

13. Bush's quote is too right:
Laura looks like a cow on cheap grass...

Georgie Porgie himself has been a long standing victim of mad cow disease.

So, if Chirac wants to come over the America to look at some heifers, that's fine by me - though it won't do him any good given how Bush* (and Americans before the 'war') has treated him.

17. Brokaw ate Freedom Toast on AF-1. Also, W personally tried to blackmail
Vincente Fox who opposed the war by telling him: "A curious thing happened to France...."
This heinous plan was spawned in his brain and Karl's. Denying responsibility confirms it.
