Bush Tax Cuts did little for Economic Growth check facts |
|
Special Report by cbpp shows that Bush tax cuts returned into our pockets 342 Billion over 2001-2002-2003.
Our gdp is over 10,000 B.
The Consumer Spending part is over 7,000B.
How can 342 energize 7,000?
Also, the 7,000 is per year so over 3 years it was 21,000 B.
Have $7,000 in pocket and find $342. Feel richer? Like spending spree?
Bush lied over and over as he promoted the tax cuts as big stimulus.
Interest rates stimulated the economy nothing else.
How can Bush get by with this nonsense?
Befuddles me.

You're forgetting that the most onerous and regressive federal tax -- the payroll tax -- hasn't been reduced at all. My brother paid twenty times his federal income tax to the payroll tax.
Reducing the income tax, by its very nature, only benefits the wealthiest people.
