Was it just my impression or did Chirac just "dress down" Bush ??
Bush did not look straight ahead when the two leaders were speaking at their news conference. He appeared to have on a suit that was too large for him or either his head was too small? He resembled Alfred E Neuman. He looked sideways at Jacque Chirac. Chirac never fell for the question from the American reporter (FOX?) that wanted to know if the world was better off without Saddam Hussein. Chirac said that although they were without a cruel dictator (paraphrasing) , there was still a lot of chaos in the country and much work to do.

It was fairly obvious that he did not say what the Bush regime wanted him to say. He was fairly clear that there was still a lot to be worked out in the UN resolution dealing with the matter. All in all, this has not been a feather in the hat for Dubya Bush, even though his "allies" in the American press may try to spin it as some sort of political victory. George W Bush will probably be happy to get thehell out of there and back to America and Texas...

1. re bush's suit
Someone here made the point that his suits have to be a size or two larger these days because he's wearing Kevlar. Everyone wants to shoot the stupid bastard so that's what you get--"little head" syndrome.

Ironically appropriate, don't you think?

11. It is the stupid cut of his suits--too large in the biceps area
and too tight in the forearm area and too long, resting in the thigh area way too long. The pants are also baggy, consistently.

This suit resembles the Sheepskin jackets worn by the cowboys--

I look at the horrible cut and wonder why these suits cost more than a thousand dollars.

They simply look baggy.

2. shrub always shrinks up when he's scared. Right before his UN pres
(before attacking iraq), remember how tiny he looked on that chair, like Lily Tomlin's little girl character from Laugh In? And remember right after 9-11, when we first see him coming off his helicopter and marching across the lawn like a toy soldier, he was all shrunken up in his suit so it looked like a little kid wearing his daddy's coat (which of course is appropos).

Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 02:18 PM by mitchtv
I've seen it a lot lately. It's almost as bad as that look he gets when he thinks he said something clever, and he waits for a laugh. What about that "chimp" look he had while sitting near the Pope ysterday?

9. Definately not the only one
I also think it was pretty clear from thier body language that bush didnt get what he wanted. Chirac also was very firm in his answers concerning the war. Even going so far as to point out that we hear a lot of reports saying everyone agreed that iraq had WMD and Chirac said I definately did not believe they had WMD.

Bush on the other hand looked angry and defeated.

12. I've mentioned that about his suits before too.
MOST expensive custom made suits LOOK GOOD! Geesh, you can take someone from the soup kitchen line, get him a makeup artist and a customa made suit and he'd look good, no matter what. Why does Shrub always look disheveled?
