Reagan dead, it's our time to bring up stem cell research |
|
Ronald Reagan is dead, and the Bush White House is going to seize the opportunity to compare Reagan and Bush. They will manipulate this to the hilt, all the media attention will be used to puff up Bush's reputation.
When the Republicans eulogize their hero, it's our moment to put Nancy in the spotlight. We need to tell people about Ron's years of suffering, and how stem cell research could have helped him, how millions of people suffer because the right wing controls our scientific investigations.
If they intend to use Reagan against us, let's use him against them.
Let's remind America that every Alzheimer's victim, every child born with a birth defect, could be helped... but Republicans won't let it happen.
Let's write letters to our local papers, to Time and Newsweek, to everyone we can think of. Let's not let the scumbags win.

Go for it, Nancy. Let some good come from your husband's death.

4. Stem Cell Would Be A Good Thing Now |
|
I saw a story on Good Morning America I think it was where they were talking about stem cell research in which the they used stem cells from the person's own body. No abortion conflicts here. I think it's time for the religious right to step forward and encourage this. They have no reason to object to this type of stem cell work.

5. Instead, I'm hearing on MSNBC comparisons about tax cuts |
|
as IF they produced a "recovery" (rather than a debt) from Reagan and as IF they helped when the Chimp pushed them, too.

6. I think you're wrong on the stem cell research. |
|
It would be a much better idea to wait until Kerry is in the WH and we have at least one of the houses back. Think about the grumblings of the Catholics and Kerry supporting Gays and pro-life. We don't need to add another log to that fire right now.

8. Most Catholics favor stem cell research -- and so do most Republicans |
|
It's a lunatic fringe that has control of the issue right now.

7. Everytime you hear Reagan mentioned in the next month... |
|
...be sure to bring up stem cell research. "It's a shame that we weren't allowed to do the stem cell research that could have helped him. Hopefully this may change that"

we can, and should, turn this around. "Bush and his extreme conservative views helped kill Reagan!"
Stem cell research is vital- and although I've never been a fan of Nancy I was happy to hear her come out for the research a few months ago.
