There were two "Bush campaign" calls to our house today....the first |

was this morning and my rightwing mother took it. It was apparently a canvassing about a wedge issue, specifically, about how concerned she was about any attempts to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance.
My rightwing mother tells the caller that she remembers when it wasn't in there and she had a hard time remembering to put it in. She then told the caller that she didn't care if it was in or wasn't in.
This afternoon, we got another call and I picked up the phone and it was a young man named Michael. I had to ask twice where he was calling from and he said "President Bush." In a totally spontaneous move, I said "FORGET ABOUT IT" and hung up the phone.
I probably should have come up with something properly derisive, like "don't talk to me about that lying war criminal" but I just blurted out the truth........that I want to get this bastard out of my life so I can forget about him!

2. Dunno, I live in a battleground state |
|
but I also live in a working class neighborhood in the inner city. I think GOP canvassers have given up on this area.
