This is weird
Edited on Sat Jun-05-04 08:55 PM by ih8thegop
I was watching CBS coverage of golf, thinking about Reagan's probably imminent death. I flipped on to ABC, and they said that, indeed, Reagan had died.

I flipped back to CBS, thenm to NBC, then to CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. For a good few minutes after ABC came on, they had nothing. Why was it that, for a few moments, ABC was the only one to have special coverage?

Then, when CBS and NBC wenmt on, they stayed on for just a short while while ABC stayed on until 8:00. NBC and CBS had their own tributes later, but they were only an hour long.

Also, I figured they'd be on for several hours, perhaps late into the night, especially for someone like Reagan.

Oh, BTW, guess who had a ship named after him christened today? Jimmy Carter.

1. Well, most of the damned cable
news channels have become the St. Ronnie channels, they haven't had anything else for hours. Fox, especially, but what would you expect from the GOP's own propaganda channel?

2. I'll give them a pass
This is big news.

Not every day a president dies. Former presidents, whether you like them or not, should merit at least some respect.

Mourning Bush II will be a big personal challenge for me, though. Not sure I could do it.
