I don't give a **** about the Freeper maggots who have posted that they don't respect the threads condemning terrorist Ronald Raygun. Was it OK when freerepublic.com posted that the founder of CLG (Mike R.) should be shot (by listing gun calibers within the thread, several times) and recently posting their details of what abuse I should endure after an arrest by Secret Service agents?

On edit - clarifying -- one Freeper posted that he was reporting me to the SS, and another Freeper stated what should happen to me after the arrest. (I was not arrested.)

I have not witnessed such behavior on DU, and I don't advocate it. Still, I agree with you that in this climate, liberals cannot afford to keep on turning the other cheek, to let the other side bully them around. Even Martin Luther King came to the conclusion, at the end of his life, that the conscience of the nation could not be appealed to by simply turning the other cheek.

It can take some effort getting prosecutors motivated. If all fails, you may choose another "venue" county to pursue your complaint. But it is important that threats that are politically motivated are treated seriously. It is a lot more work than "turning the other cheek" - but important, especially if these threats are real.
