Bring out your (dead) Reagan quotes

"We're not building missiles to fight a war.
We're building missiles to preserve the peace."

"Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do."

"A tree is a tree. How many more do you have to look at?"

"Facts are stupid things."

"We think there is a parallel between federal involvement in education and the decline in profit over recent years."

"Fascism was really the basis for the New Deal."

Hurry before they cannonize him and name your new federal buildings and city streets in your town after him.

2. In his testimony before the Tower Commission
regarding his involvement in Iran-Contra, Reagan read this off his notes
"If the question comes up at the Tower Board meeting, you might want to say that you were surprised."
which was of course, some stage directions inserted by his handlers. Heehee!

5. here's how Ronnie didn't like deficits...
For decades, we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals.

You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why, then, should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by that same limitation?

6. Forest full of commies
"A tree's a tree. How many more do you need to look at?"

"There is today in the United States as much forest as there was when Washington was at Valley Forge."

"When you've seen one Redwood, you've seen them all."

"I don't believe a tree is a tree, and if you've seen one you've seen them all."
