I attended the State Convention today. WOW is the best word I can use to describe it! During Ms Ruderman's speech there were a group of people in the back chanting "Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy." I was after Ms Ruderman. I have to say...I gave the best speech yet. I was amazed at the end when I got another standing ovation. Two within the last month. Absolutely astonishing! I made several contacts with the Washington Education Association. Many of them had my Democratic opponent's stickers on, but when I left them...they all were wearing my buttons and My opponent, because of her vote on charter schools...lost a BUNCH of votes. She really...should have thought more about that vote. She should have also considered her support of tip credits as well. I talked to several waitresses that that were wearing her stickers. Looks like she pissed that voting block off as well. Your costly stickers wound up on the cutting room floor, and several vote were shaved away from your total to mine...What an absolutely astonishing show of support. I am beginning to think I can win this race.

Oh and I have to say...there were many people impressd with the Gore Vidal book the Vanity Fair Article etc. I think I went from being a dark horse candidate to a serious contender today.

You really are in an upward curve on this public speaking thing. You made all the right points--there are definite advantages to going second. You got a chance to nail her on points that she made in her speech.

I agree that you can win. You are still the non-establishment underdog, but you are making gains day by day.

(Doesn't Laura remind you a bit of Kerry? The establishment's choice, better than Reed, but not even half of what we need in the office.)
