Did Nancy pull the plug now to minimize political impact? |

Sorry if this is a dupe.
I've been thinking about this all night. We all know that Nancy has never been fond of the Bush family. But her husband was the lionized patriarch of the neoconservative movement that has put them into power.
We all know that Reagan's death is being treated like the Passion by the Republicans. Nancy is a smart woman, she had to know this would happen.
Maybe this is a little bit tinfoil, but just look at how Reagan's death has diverted attention away from Bush's embarrassing European tour. Did she figure better now than in November?

Sorry if I seemed disrespectful, but Reagan has been in a vegetative state for years now. To the contrary, what I'm suggesting is that she may have done it now in order to avoid disgraceful "win one for the Gipper" garbage come November.

2. This is really hateful...even for me. I don't think so. |

One, and probably only one, thing that I admired about the Reagans was their deep love for each other.

I think he died from pnuemonia and the complications of Altzheimer's.
I do think the timing was pretty good though. Shrub can't wrap himself up in Reagan's Flag and, in fact, will lose a lot of support when the fanatic faithful realize that Dimbo serves only himself and his corporate sponsors.

5. Why would you think that? |

A 93 year-old man diagnosed with Alzheimer's a decade ago dies of pneumonia. There's no mystery here.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I suspect that she did with President Reagan what my Gran did with my Granddad: there comes a time with someone you love when enough is enough, and it's simply time to let them go.
