Fox's unintentional, overwhelming statement on "The Death Of Dignity"
http://www.foxnews.com/

It's the photo currently on their front page, under the headline "America Mourns: Ronald Reagan Dies at 93."

"A hearse transports the flag-draped coffin of former President Ronald Reagan from his house in Los Angeles."

Yes, but take a look at that back window. A hearse is transporting former president Ronald Reagan to his final resting place, taking with him...our dignity.

Yesterday I posted George Bush's remarks on the passing of Reagan and asked you to read them, taking the success or failure of his own presidency into consideration. Please read them again, and consider his contribution to our nation's dignity in the last three years. Consider his behavior at the press conference with Jacques Chiraq just hours before making the speech below. Consider the "confidence, character, grace, and humility" of George W. Bush. Consider the "nation he restored and a world he helped save" ...and ask yourself if he was delivering a eulogy for a fallen man or a re-election speech for himself:

Remarks by the President Upon the Death of President Ronald Reagan

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/06/20040605-7.html

"THE PRESIDENT: This is a sad hour in the life of America. A great American life has come to an end. I have just spoken to Nancy Reagan. On behalf of our whole nation, Laura and I offered her and the Reagan family our prayers and our condolences.

Ronald Reagan won America's respect with his greatness, and won its love with his goodness. He had the confidence that comes with conviction, the strength that comes with character, the grace that comes with humility, and the humor that comes with wisdom. He leaves behind a nation he restored and a world he helped save.

During the years of President Reagan, America laid to rest an era of division and self-doubt. And because of his leadership, the world laid to rest an era of fear and tyranny. Now, in laying our leader to rest, we say thank you.

He always told us that for America, the best was yet to come. We comfort ourselves in the knowledge that this is true for him, too. His work is done, and now a shining city awaits him. May God bless Ronald Reagan."

1. Exactly how the hell did Reagan "restore" our nation?
when his biggest achievement was destroying unions, funding and programs that helped so many into the middle class.

Is he frickin' nuts? Was bush totally wasted during one of the most horrendous social issues of our times, the AIDS crisis? (Not that it isn't still a crisis, but hey, there's a war on terra goin' on :eyes:)
