Poll question: Are you fed up with all the Reagan tributes yet?
Since his death at about 4pm yesterday, this is all I saw on the news. Even the Belmont race seems to have been forgotten (Triple-Crown contender Smarty Jones fell short, losing to 36-1 longshot Birdstone, btw).

Think you've heard enough about Reagan?

5. The tributes are getting tiresome
But we do not need any "dance on his grave" shit on here, either. I never did care for the man's politics, but all this crap about him is just feeding the FReepers and their "liberals have no soul" us v. themism. Please let them have thier neocon orgy of grief and leave us out of it.

7. That's why I didn't vote in this poll
I don't respect Reagan, I don't want to dance on his grave, I don't agree with 'keep it coming', etc.

2. Had to turn off NPR this morning.
After listening to about 3 minutes too many of "tributes" to the drooling idiot.

4. Same here
I lie in bed listening to NPR before I get up most days. But today, after about 15 minutes, I realized it was going to be a wall to wall reaganfest, so I turned it off.

There's a really great acoustic show on the local rock station on sunday mornings with a DJ from my childhood that I love. I switched over to that and have had a much more pleasant morning.

3. I was tired of hearing about it about
90 minutes after it broke on TV news.

I wasn't really QUITE old enough to process what he was like when he was in office (he took office when I was 10 and left when I was 18 and I sure wasn't paying much attention back then) but the more I learn now, the less I like.

I do remember the Iran-Contra hearings and old Ollie North. I never did take the time, back then, to figure out what it was about. I was a teenager and only cared about clothes and boys.

But yeah, so sick of it, I haven't turned the TV back on since yesterday late afternoon.

9. I cannot mourn the death of
a 93 year old man who lived a full life by any measure. The media hysteria is ridiculous.

11. Relax plenty to come
Conservatives were in the wilderness for 40 years then here comes Reagan. Messiah.

Yet, he operated as Tax and Spender.

Millions have been spent promoting him. More will be spent.

12. Reagan tributes are OK, but tonight is The Sopranos final episode
and that is more important than anything else on TV.
