And I know alot of the older generations.. the ones who were alive during that time are starting to pass away....
That has some ramifications if you think about it....we really should try not to lose the legacy and memory of what took place in 1939 - 1945... the less people who are living who experienced it, the more it fades away.
That very last widow of a WWI veteran died recently. Kind of a strange thing to think about... so now it truly IS only history. WWI was a horrifying hasty war... dreadful...and to think people in Europe naively celebrated when was was declared.. not realizing what recent advances in weapons would bring to the battlefield..

Imagine the world today if the Nazis had prevailed. Ironically, it seems that we are taking the first steps toward facism under Bush and Co. Two steps forward and one step back.
