Wouldn't it be a pleasure and huge relief to talk about Clinton's Book TV speech instead of having to wade through all the Reagan hate on DU?

4. Is Clinton going to do a nationwide book tour?
I stood in line for Hillary and was not disappointed. I'd give my left ear to meet Bill and have him sign his book!!!!!!!

5. I think so - the Knopf guy who introduced Clinton said 'the author' has
pledged to work very hard promoting the book. There must be a schedule somewhere.

6. He also makes the point that we shouldn't be able to try new ideas, and
drop them and try new ones if they fail. He said that's what FDR did.

He says that when you're only ideologically motivated, you refuse to try new ideas if they dont' fit into your ideology.

It's the same ideal. Try something. Evaluate the results. If it works, keep doing it. If it doesn't work, stop doing it.

Republicans believe that the ideology is the most important thing. Eg, they want small government at all costs. Even if you start seeing the economy shrink and rich people getting much richer as a result of a small goverment which can't guaranee a level playing field, they'll keep striving for a smaller and smaller government despite the fact that that one of the benefits of small goverment they promissed was that it would make the economy grow.
