Shrub has been wrapping himself in the flag ever since he first decided to put aside drinking and try a new career in politics. Will he now attempt to keep that career alive by climbing into the skin of Ronald W. Reagan?

Could very well be that Shrub's new flightsuit will come with a well-oiled pompadour.

2. Bush is no Reagan

Does anybody else think Bush would do best to avoid comparison with Ronald Reagan? The sudden focus on Reagan seems to me to make Bush look small, petty, mean and silly by comparison.

I'm certainly no fan of Reagan, but the man was articulate, dynamic and relentlessly cheerful. Next to him, Bush seems glum, dumb and...well, just small.

Bush makes Reagan seem intelligent, and back in the day very few people accused Reagan of being an intellectual.

As much as I disliked him and his policies at the time, Reagan appears a giant when you reflect on our current President. I guess that's what it's come to: George W. Bush has managed to make me feel nostalgic for Ronald Reagan.
