I do think that lines crossed between criticisms and crassness (pissing on the grave thread... the hate as a virtue thread, etc.) - haven't been productive in the least. But think that at this moment in time - the sentiment will fall on deaf ears.

i am reminded of the funeral of my only republican uncle who shunned our side of the family in favor of his wife's family...an east coast old black money clan. we, including his two surviving sisters, were assigned to the back rows of the family section, while his adopted family (truly a callous lot), preened for the cameras in the front rows. even in death....he was a heartless coward. his wife, their blood relative, is currently being sucked dry by this fine bunch :eyes: and they won't even allow us to bring her to our family gatherings. she has alzheimers and is confined to a wheelchair, but she always enjoyed being with us, the family that didn't try to suck her dry.

It is things like this that caused me to stop coming here - now that I venture back today what do I see? Threads about pissing on a dead president's grave etc.

Everything was/is so negative and hateful and vicious and not about positive things that we can do. There was/is no room for honest disagreement on POLICY but just a knee jerk reaction GOP/Bush/Right = evil. I didn't like it when they did it to Clinton/Gore and I don't like this trash from my side either.

BTW - If we still had the FD we'd not have a fraction of the debate and views aired that we currently enjoy.(All those cable shows would politely refuse to discuss politics and stick to quilting)
