Rush? Lemme tell you a little story about him you might not have heard. When he first got that TV show sometime in 92 or 93 (???), I was a senior in college and happened to catch it late one night. Had NO frigging clue who he was, I just knew his audience scared me.

Well, he mentioned that Carol Mosley-Braun had just been elected the first black female senator from Illinois.

He then started singing the Jeffersons theme song, holding her picture.

"Well hey we movin on uuuuup....to the east siiiide...."

I didn't know who he was, but I knew in that moment, 22 years old and sitting slack-jawed in front of my TV, that he had to be a walking sac of pus to do something like that.

His audience clapped. He GIGGLED. I swear to all that is holy, that grown man GIGGLED his fat ass off. Pleased as PUNCH at himself. Giggled himself pink in the face and sweaty.

I tuned in another night, just by accident. Thought I'd see what he did this time. That was the night he called Chelsea Clinton the "White House dog". I turned the channel. ANYONE who would make fun of a 12 YEAR OLD GIRL did NOT deserve one moment of my time. None, nada. He didn't deserve a BIT of respect at all.

And just as a PS to that Chelsea Clinton story, when he was called on the carpet about it, he didn't even have the BALLS to admit he did it on purpose. He said he didn't know they were going to show her picture. Oh yeah, like what was the punchline SUPPOSED to be rushie-poo? And his show is TAPED. So that's a load of bullshit and I didn't think I could have any LESS respect for him, but if you are going to be a big flaming asshole, at least cop to it.

it is that whenever he, or boortz or sully do the highlights... all of those awful, obnoxious folks... start flooding our boards, soiling the room, create huge server overloads, give constant headaches and extra volunteer work to the mods who have to deal with zapping them as fast as the sign up and start spewing rushisms. The more hyperbolic the thread title (and some are done JUST for this effect) the bigger the invitation for a riproaring long freeper invasion. So if you can't log on to DU for hours at a time... and when you get on thread after thread is filled with comments by those who cheered and agreed with Rush's antics on his show you describe... that is the logical extension... invited by the few (who couldn't just be critical but had to go for extreme shock) and visited upon the rest of us.

does not slow down web sites it completely knocks them OFF the internet. Limiting only people who contribute to this site won't mean a thing they can still attack. It is Illegal to perform a DOS attack or provoke one like the pigboy has. I have known anti-spyware sites that have been knocked off the internet for weeks at a time only to come on and get another DOS attack. They have to get other servers at a great cost to them and there only recourse is to turn it into the FBI.
