The Myth of RR
Think about this....

RR has been gone for a long time now. Since his time he has taken on mythical proportions: "What a great leader he was", the myth proclaims.

Yet now, today, on DU at least, the RR myth has been shattered.

The real truth of the RR years have been posted time and again for all to see.

RR has been brought back from the dead even as he died.

Who here can read of his presidency and not feel the pain and agony of his victims?

Who here can read the truth and not see that the myth of RR is the root of evil which we must destroy if we are to save America?

1. In days like this it is very hard to keep the faith..It looks like America
is beyond saving.
But maybe next week it will be better.

7. Thanks for the encouragement. Yes. my opinion is WORSE now
than before, plust I am REALLY RESENTFUL BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE I AM SURROUNDED BY CRAZINESS. I lived in Oregon during Reagan's governorship of California... and he was a disaster for education and poor people. So I never had a good opinion of him. But NOW I despise the memory of what he was when he had the power to do what he did.(Nothing to do with his illness for the last 10 years where he was an empty shell...you cannot despise an empty shell or be happy about that kind of destiny)

9. Are you saying the intercourse weve had on DU helped educate you?
The members of DU have reminded me of the truthful legacy of RR in a way I never thought possible. I had forgotten about most of the really awful things he did. Of course it was his death that began the information flowing and I'm glad to be reminded.

It reinforces my belief that reaganism is the root of the shrub we must eradicate!

10. Yes. I have to admit I had forgotten a lot of what RR really
represented and how all the people still in power date back to him. So it has been constructive. But I am getting worn out.

2. Even the Reagan myth cannot survive 10 days of this media coverage
by the end of the week even George Will should be happy to see this chapter closed. I have no love for him; his policies personally affected me in my early college years, but com'on folks, give him some respect - this whole corpse PT Barnum-esque touring the countryside thing is a bit much. Give him a fancy service, send him off with horses and a cannon, and get him in the ground already - don't give him frequent flyer miles between Cali and DC.

3. traveling corpse? what did I miss?
sorry I refuse to watch all of this but...I missed the "touring corpse" bit. Can someone give me a nutshell on that?

BTW, I've said elsewhere that the length of time this goes on will bite 'em in the ass before the circus is over. Much too long but they never ever know when to stop.

Also, Bush* badly needs to do very very well with that eulogy. Good ain't gonna cut it in this case.

5. 2 or 3 days on display in Simi Valley
then on to DC where he will lie in State, the funeral, then back to Cali to be planted. I might have overstated it a bit - i don't believe he will stop off at the family home in Dixon and I believe the promoter opted out of his Saturday matinee in Omaha.

6. Touring corpse
Coast to coast. They are flyng the body to DC, they say. Someone here suggested they oughtta just send an empty box, can you imagine?

Yeah, the longer they bother the sheeple by taking up their TV time, the more they will deaden the whole show. And they'll have * to top it off! Musn't see TV!

8. A regular traveling show...with an emanciated cadaver... of a shell
of a human being.
But all the bodies of the young soldiers sent to their deaths, and the respect for the dead Iraqis...
Somebody was saying it is going to cost the taxpayers $20 million dollars? I WANT MY TAXES TO GO TO THE POOR NOT TO THIS CADAVER BEING FLOWN ALL OVER THE PLACE.
