Seems we weren't the only ones Saturday night...
My favorite baseball site has an interesting RR thread. I wonder if the RW radio hosts will now accuse baseball fans of being 'unpatriotic'?

This makes me wonder if the media really understands how the country feels, judging by the cross-section of people who post on this site. Here are some choice quotes (and yes, we got a freeper mention!):

"Too bad it happened oh, about 40 years too late."

"I'm sure all of Nicaragua weeps with sorrow."

"Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, all join with Nicaraguans in their sorrow. A decade of blood in Central America partly stains the hands of this president."

"Since the current president won't attend the funerals of any of the troops that have died in Iraq, he shouldn't be permitted to go to Reagan's funeral either. In fact, it would only be fitting, if no one attended Dubya's funeral."

"I feel sorry for his family. But this guy hurt a lot of people. A LOT of people. I'm not sorry he's gone."

"Tonight I'll feed my family ketchup as a vegtable."

"There've been a lot of stupid comments on this thread so far. Obviously everyone's entitled to them. I'd suggest posting most of them at Democratic Underground instead of tapdancing here."

"I confess to hypocrisy, as I have more than once exhorted others to keep politics off a baseball site. I suppose that it's on all our minds today, though, so it's normal that we'd post about it, web manners aside.

But to call the comments of a generally well-read and thoughtful lot "stupid" is shallow, myopic, and a tad childish. RR's leadership was controversial and fraught with contradictions and it remains to be seen just how history will judge his administration. (And W's is on balance more controversial & contradictory, making it ripe fodder for discussion and criticism). "

Enjoy....
