In singing praises to Reagan they are signing praises to Bush....and all the Bush's who will most assuredly follow in the "great and wonderful" Reagan's footsteps. In singing praises to Reagan they invalidate their own message. If, as they claim, Reagan was a great and wonderful man, does it not stand to reason that his legacy incarnate is a great and wonderful man as well? Of course it does. So we the public are left with the impression that the Democrats who sing his praises are not bound by any moral compass and are just playing a silly little power game....that they will say and do whatever is most pleasing to the listener at any particular time if it garners them praise, no matter how fleeting or hollow that praise most certainly is.

These are not qualities of true leaders. They are the qualities of those who lack fortitude and conviction.

June 5, 1968...RFK's death and Reagan's apparently inspired some comparisons in the media.

Last night, Alan Colmes estimated that "over 80,000" had shown up at the Reagan library to pay their respects.

On June 8, 1968 (from an MSNBC source earlier yesterday) "hundreds of thousands lined the tracks" to say goodbye to RFK as the TRAIN transporting his body passed by. That's respect. Standing for hours waiting for the ten seconds in which you can salute a frigging TRAIN.

That train's been gone for 36 years, but the man who was on it has not been forgotten.
