Anyone else noticing less Bush bumper stickers and signs than in 2000?
I'm in New Orleans, and it seems to me people for Bush aren't nearly as likely to proudly display his signage as they were in 2000.

This is a good thing...i've seen more Kerry stickers on cars than Bush stickers. I've only seen a couple of Bush yard signs...no Kerry yardsigns that i've seen so far, but I'll be getting one soon.

Sadly, I've probably seen even *more* Shrub bumper stickers this time around. Still see a few for Edwards and Dean, have seen ONE Kerry.

However, I do see Texas Democrat stickers all the time, so maybe that's even better than one that just says a particular candidate's name...

11. I've seen a couple...
...interestingly enough though, there were two residents in my neighborhood that a couple months ago were sporting Bush/Cheney2004 stickers, and one that still had on a Bush/Cheney2000 sticker. The Bush/Cheney2000 has been notably scraped off the truck it was on, and the status of the two 2004. One has been covered by a Jesus loves you, is the feeling mutual, and the other was covered with a Dean sticker.

14. The guy around the corner from me
I've posted about him before. He had two stickers on the bed cap of his pickup: One saying "Sportsmen for Bush" and the other touting Gordon Smith as Senator for Oregon. About the time of the Abu Ghraib pictures, the "Sportsmen for Bush" sticker was rather badly torn off, leaving a couple of jagged stripes. The Smith sticker remained unchanged. His truck (late model, nicely maintained) stayed in that condition for several weeks.

Just a couple of days ago, he'd apparently gotten serious about the sticker, and the Bush one was properly removed, as was the Smith sticker (!). I don't know if this guy's had a change of heart, an epiphany, anti-incumbent fever, or what, but where there were two Republican-friendly bumper stickers prominently displayed on a busy street, there are now none.

I smile to myself each day on the way to the bus.

16. Very few Bush
I have seen maybe one actual Bush bumper sticker.

I have seen a handful of Kerry stickers and some anti bush stickers.

One car that parked near me in a Costco awhile back had one of those oval "location" stickers on it. It had ABB (anyone but bush)

They also had a bumper sticker that said: "Like Father, like son out in one term!"

It made my entire day! I was hoping that they would be coming out at the same time just to give them a thumbs up!

20. In rural Tennessee
I was in rural Tennessee (Crossville) over Memorial Day. I noticed a couple of Bush/Cheney bumper stickers, no Kerry bumper stickers, and at LEAST a dozen anti-Bush bumper stickers. I saw the "Four More Wars" version several times. Kerry may not be winning them over, but a lot of people deep in bible-thumper territory hate Bush.

Good move on the part of the Kerry campaign to give out the free stickers on his website.

25. I'm shocked in East Tenn
to see more and more Kerry stickers everyday. I even conduct "elections" when I'm doing my errands to see who wins based solely on the number of Kerry vs Bush stickers I can count on the way to the bank/store/ect. Kerry has been winning with greater frequency lately...

In my office building alone there are 3 Kerry stickers on cars and no pro-Bush.

I'm not sure if this is a result of the Kerry campaign being more engaged on the ground? Of course I don't live in the suburbs, so that place could be awash with Bush propaganda. Has the Bush campaign really kicked off it's local field offices?

East Tenn is a very conservative area, but I think it would be too much to call it a Republican stronghold. Most people are starting to realize that showing your colors for Bush after all the BS he's thrown at the American people is a sign of a serious personal character flaw.

NO bumperstickers whatsoever. But bear in mind that our town (not my section but overall) is very well-to-do. Maybe bumper stickers are too low class for them?

I did see one car with a sticker finally and it was anti-W. :)

Politics usually run the gamut of middle right to far right... but there are Kerry stickers visible in rising numbers, where in 2000 Gore stickers were few and far between.

And during my visit to Los Angeles over the weekend, there were nothing but Kerry stickers on the freeways.

46. I've actually seen three bush/cheney2004 stickers.
Two are in my neighborhood (YUCK!!!) Down the street, two houses side-by-side. They've been there for awhile. One of the cars has a Dump Gray Davis sticker still on it, too. So - consider the source. Probably somebody unreachable. Farther up the street, though, are a couple more cars with Kerry stickers, fortunately. I did see some nice Mercedes driving down the street with a bush sticker on it, just about the same day as I saw a PT Cruiser with an "Impeach Bush" sticker on it, parked up in the Village. But mainly it's pro-peace or anti-war stuff, more and more Kerry stuff, quite a few Kucinich stickers, still, a couple of Wesley Clarks, and LOTS of anti-bush.

There's another mother at school in a minivan who's just added "Let's Not Elect Him in 2004, Either!" to her back bumper. That makes TWO of those specific stickers just in our school parking lot. The other one belongs to one of the teachers.

What I DO NOT like seeing are the ripped posters all over the place. There is a guerrilla artist here in So Cal named Robbie Conal. He does poster-sized caricatures of various public personas, with some very clever captioning on them. Suddenly, overnight, you'll see them plastered all over town, on signal switcher boxes and other spots. There's a new series of anti-bush ones, with captions including "Read My Apoca-LIPS," and "Let's Play Armageddon!" They're just great! Infuriatingly enough, however, somebody's gone around with spray paint, and obliterated many of them, especially around my neighborhood. Or, they're ripped to pieces, at least partially or in some cases mostly. There's some knuckle-dragger around here who just WILL NOT let this guy's art be seen. During the recall, there was an Arnold poster put up all over the place, with the caption "Achtung, Baby!" and it, too, was ripped all over the place, and right away, too. It's distressing.

I have to say that, even here, it does seem like there are fewer stickers than in 2000. And most of the ones I've seen around are the stealthy little oval "W '04" ones rather than the big blue Bush/Cheney ones. We can't rest yet, but I'm feeling more optimistic than I have in almost four years.
