Bush* And His Idiotic Annoying Tics... DRIVES ME CRAZY!
Edited on Tue Jun-08-04 01:02 PM by arwalden
While the Japanese prime minister was speaking, Bush was gazing around the room, day-dreaming, not paying attention to what was being said. His odd facial expressions conveyed the impression that he was trying to keep himself from laughing at all the "funny-sounding" foreign words that the 'Japaner' was saying.

So as I was watching this odd and sophomoric and RUDE behavior coming from our Great Leader... I could feel my blood pressure start to rise. Veins started popping out on my forehead.

I despise him. I loathe him. There is NOTHING about him that is redeeming... and all his behavior oddities and strange personality traits just make him EVEN MORE loathsome and annoying.

His smirk.
His excessive blinking.
His beady eyes that are too close together.
His podium-leaning.
His shoulder-shrug of innocence.
His darting eyes.
His "monkey-face" whenever he over-pronounces a word that ends in "R".

>>> His "I gotta go PEE-PEE" dance!! <<< That constant shifting of weight from his left foot to his right foot... as though he's holding a full bladder.

DID I MISS ANYTHING? LIST EM HERE!

6. Yep... I Forgot About That One... And The Lip Biting
... unfortunately that's a nervous habit of mine too (biting or "plucking" bits of skin from the inside of my lower lip). Ugh! When I realize I'm doing it, I stop myself.

In any case... it certainly contorts one's face and makes them look quite idiotic.

I imagine that Bush* really has to concentrate to keep himself from sticking out his tongue as a "helper" when he's trying to draw letters.

35. Do you remember the incessant criticism of Clinton over the
lip biting?! And, of course, not a peep about *'s cheek chewing.

Not that I find either terribly important, but the difference in treatment from the librul media is laughable.

14. That Fucking Turkey-Strut Walk! Grrr! --- Watch how he swings his arms and
how he holds his hands. It's just TOO EXAGGERATED and forced-looking to be natural. It's simply GOT to be something that he's CONSCIOUSLY making an effort to do.

If he's under the impression that it makes him look more confident, he's sorely mistaken. It only makes him (and our country) look like pompous buffoons.

His inappropriate pauses, he's need to look at his paper all the time, obviously speaking from a speech instead of his heart. His deliberate back and forth eye movement like a mechanical puppet giving a speech. His leaning on the lectern and fidgeting all the time. He's veneer interest in what he's saying when he hasn't a clue, it's just recited words. He's ignorant Texas sounding draw. Everything pretty much about him, but mostly his eyes are too close together and he has no lips. He's just plain annoying.

24. Sounding-out and "reading" words... but not understanding the SENTENCES
that the words form... that's PRECISELY it!!

Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry... could give a FULL speech using note cards, or with nothing more than a BULLETED LIST of "speech highlights" as a reminder of the topics and order.

Armed with JUST their understanding of the subject matter and brief reminders of what they planned to talk about... each of these professionals could easily give a speech without text or teleprompters.

But Bush* is totally impotent! If the wind blew away his speech... or if the teleprompters stopped working... he would have NOTHING to say.

-- Allen

P.S. Who was it that had the WRONG speech loaded into the teleprompter... yet he managed to recite the speech from memory until the correct speech was loaded... and the teleprompter operator could CATCH UP with the speaker?

I remember hearing this story several times... but I don't know who the speaker was... or if it's just an urban legend.

I've seen that mentioned here before. It seemed obvious when he was talking to the Pope. He would say a few words, then pause like someone was telling him what to say through an earpiece, then speak, then pause....It happened again and again. Very odd.

17. Speech class...
...One of the members of the local young democrat chapter he was doing a bunch of Bushisms in speech class earlier this year. He said he leaned up against the podium, made up words and laughed at his own dumb jokes.

The teacher gave him an F.

When he got the grade back, he told his teacher if its good for our President to do, why wasn't it good for him?

Two weeks later, they watched a live press conference with Bush for extemporaneous speaking. The teacher attributed all the Bushisms to nerves.

I would laugh if it wasn't so pathetic.

His worldview is all linear. Single level. Black and white. Good and evil.

A lectern is what he leans on, a podium is what he stands on. It's a common mistake, often made in professional media, but it's one that doesn't look good to those over the pond who know the difference.

Other than that small point, yes, his mannerisms are fucking annoying, but I forgive him for them because he can't be expected to change now that he's an alcoholic with several obvious neurological diseases.

Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 06:14 AM by arwalden
It doesn't make him look any more "presidential". It doesn't make him have more of a "presence". It makes his body look like a caricature of a comic book character (the evil villain, if you ask me).

It makes his head look freakishly small and out of place and I'm often reminded of that scene in Beetlejuice in the "afterlife waiting room" where we see the shrunken head on the regular-sized body dressed in safari clothes.

49. the odd pause... then purse lips and blow air into lips or cheeks
watch him. Where he used to pause and then smirk(really odd timed pauses in his speech, also very annoying), he now often does this odd expression where he firt purses the lips then exhales to either puff out his cheeks or his lips. I think it is a trained response by his handlers to take out the natural smirk - and replace it with something that looks somewhat "pensive". Sorry handlers... its almost as annoying as the original smirk!

And have you ever noticed that he typically says only about five words before his pauses... maybe sometimes stretching all the way up to seven (and probably not ever beyond nine). Can you imagine listening to that odd cadence... all of the time?

50. I've Figure That One Out... It's How He "Reads".
His speeches usually appear on large type on a TelePrompTer ... or in large "orator" type on the printed page. As a result, there are only 5 or 6 words on each line.

Because Bush* doesn't read whole SENTENCES that have a beginning and a middle and an end. Because his simple mind cannot PROCESS whole sentences and COMPLETE THOUGHTS, he must break each sentence down into the smallest component: WORDS.

This is important: He reads individual WORDS, not whole sentences. He attempts to imitate sentences with the line-by-line word groupings... but the best he can do is put a pause at the end of each PRINTED LINE of text... as though it were a complete sentence.

We know for a FACT... an ABSOLUTE FACT that he doesn't comprehend what he reads, and that he's merely reading words because of how he pronounces (mispronounces) certain words.

Not long ago, the word "offense" tripped up our Great Leader. Depending on whether it's pronounced as "off-FENSE" or "OFF-ense" the meaning changes. One pronunciation describes the act of being affronting or displeasing... the other pronunciation describes the act of attacking or assaulting.

Sadly, when making a sports analogy our Great Leader thinks that the best DE-fense, is a good "off-FENSE"... or to be affronting and insulting and for us to outrage the moral sense of our enemies.

The fucking idiot!

52. Interesting observation
in working with struggling adolescent readers, I came to learn that many just "saw words" - not ideas, not sentences. They would read without pause at the end of a sentence - and entire paragraph as a single entity - and garnered no sense of meaning of what they had just read, because they were so focused on strings of individual words. Never thought of this odd speech pattern as possibly a similar thing.

It would explain why, even after the country is in crisis, and he is trying to make a case for war, that he was too lazy to read for himself a brief (reportedly only 11 pages long) - which is the excuse for how the Niger claim made it into the SOTU. As the official story goes - Condi briefed him on the report - and even she claims not to have read it closely enough to find the CIA caveat about the intelligence not being reliable. Now we know that Condi reads - so the story is Bullshit. But the part about it being summarized for him is completely consistent with a spread done last winter (before, I believe, his long fall in popularity that began in January with the Kay declarations of no WMDs) highlighting the trusted relationship between georgejr and Condi. Accordingly she always turns the big briefs into bullet point soundbites. Suggesting that he never reads any reports. Lazy son of a "silver fox" (georgesr's term for hyena mother in chief).
