HOUSTON, Texas (AP) -- Former President Bush is planning to go ahead with an 80th birthday parachute jump this weekend following the week of mourning for former President Reagan.

Bush and his wife, Barbara, will attend Friday's Reagan memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, then immediately return to Houston for a birthday party Saturday in Houston and the Sunday parachute jump over College Station, said Jim McGrath, spokesman for the organizing committee, 41(at)80. The group's name is for the 41st president at 80 years old.

Bush, a Navy pilot who bailed out from a damaged plane during World War II, also made a parachute jump on his 75th birthday.

5. If the chute doesn't open, the next jump is free . . .
Old joke, but let's hope he makes it. Otherwise, we get another orgy of "mourning" for our fallen conservative hero . . .

3. Will it be a FULL reenactment?
Where he gets to leave two other schmucks in the plane to crash and burn like he did in WWII ...

8. Deep tinfoil theory.....
Let's suppose that "Al Qaeda" (PNAC) decided that the ultimate outcome of public sympathy would be the shock of losing three "heroes" in one week. Reagan's already down. So sabotage Poppy's chute and arrange a "terra attack" at G8 which removes the Idiot from the picture. Naturally, it would all be blamed on the terra-ists, and the country (like on 9-11) would be too deeply in shock to question any of it.

Bizarre, yes. But not out of the realm of possibility for these bastards. :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

9. "a Navy pilot who bailed out from a damaged plane during World War II"
And two folks were KILLED when he bailed from his plane. A plane that some folks say was not even hit that badly. And he didn't even warn the two guys.

Plus, I think his 75th birthday jump was a wimpy tandem jump, anyway.

11. I hope his chute works well too
> Bush, a Navy pilot who bailed out from a damaged plane during World War II,

unlike his crew, who crashed and burned with the plane after their pilot parachuted to safety.

But we really don't want Bush I to go splat before the election,
'cause then we'll have the disgusting spectacle of Junior riding to victory on the sympathy vote.
