You'd think if the masses were lining up miles around the block that the photos would be all over the TV.

I've seen what 40,000 people look like; I've done many protests in DC & NYC that were easily 40,000+ folks.

Maybe someone can prove me wrong by posting a picture of the folks lining up for the viewing - but I've searched all over the place and I'm not seeing any. I'm starting to think that this whole viewing process has become a media frenzy because lets face it, when's the last time any group of neo-con supporters lined up with more than 400 folks in attendence???

:puke: ...The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library announced Tuesday that it had extended the end of viewing hours from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. "due to the overwhelming response."

By mid-morning Tuesday, officials said the wait time for shuttle buses at Moorpark College, where mourners gathered before heading to the library, had dropped to less than two hours. The wait at the library to view the casket took less than 30 minutes.

The shorter lines were due to a combination of factors, including doubling the number of buses to 50; police escorts for the shuttles; and media reports about extended waits that may have scared off potential visitors, said Melissa Giller, chief of staff for the library foundation. By 6 a.m. Tuesday, more than 40,000 people had gone through the library, said Duke Blackwood, the library's executive director.

"We knew it was going to be high, but quite honestly we didn't know it was going to be this high," said Gary Foster, a Reagan family spokesman.

During the night, traffic ground to a halt on the Ronald Reagan Freeway, with delays of up to four hours, said Mary Clark, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

Mourners who made it through the traffic overnight reported waiting up to eight hours for one of the shuttle buses at Moorpark College, then standing in line for three hours or more at the library itself to walk past the casket.

Most visitors had few complaints, saying that the wait was well worth it.

"He gave us eight years of service," said Keith Godliman, 50, of Santa Clarita. "It doesn't hurt for us to wait eight hours for him."...

2. Here's the formula we've used for counting the numbers at protests:
Whatever number they would give for us: Multiply it by 4

Whatever number they would give for the pro-war folks: Take one "0" off the end of the number.

For the March for Choice the papers reported about 250,000 for Choice and 2000 for anti-choice. Those numbers worked out perfectly because there were about a million of us there and barely 200 anti-choice folks.

So if they are saying 40,000 folks have showed up, I'd give it about 4000.

Well, I was going to try and post some pics but my knowledge on how to do that stinks, so try out the link. You have to click on slideshow. It has the most pics I've seen so far of Reagan activities.
