I can't find a place to get away from this guy! He wasn't even that great an actor for Christ's sake! I'm sick of him! To think that our great nation is honoring a man that knowingly sent a percentage of the world to it's death is sickening! To remember that split screen on his inaugural in 1981, when the Iraian hostages were being released, a deal he had made to get elected with the enemy of this country, ...breathe..... Ronald Reagan is a traitor to the United States of America. There is no way I want this man's facade on money!

4. HMnnnn. Easy to say....
I work in a nursing home. Somebody ALWAYS has a television on. I do not have the heart to tell people that may have just months to live, to turn their tv off. I guess I'll just have to to suffer!

12. I agree
My husband and I haven't watched cable or network news for 3 days now. We were saddened by Reagan's death and especially Nancy's grieving, but the coverage has been overkill from the start. There is really nothing left to say, but to pay our respects and lay the man to rest.

I think we'll turn the news on next Monday. Things should return to normal by then.

5. Well if I turn on the box
I make sure the mute button is on, so I don't have to hear all the yadda yadda yadda and usually can flip to something else and not have my eyes stained by seeing his visage.

The cover of Newsweek went in the trash.

By the way, I suggest not turning the TV on at all Friday-which is my plan, in fact, I'm not even turning the computer on. Monday it will all be over at last!

I'm thinking of celebrating my day of non-mourning by going to see the new Garfield movie with my kids.

7. I am more concerned about what is not being shown on the news.
The focus on Reagan has really pulled the attention away from some important issues. The anti-Bush/anti-Iraqi War momentum was building and I am concerned that the momentum has been halted by Reagan's death. Fortunately, it is only June. Things will return to normal and normal isn't good.

13. I have to disagree with you gpandas.
Reagan has cause much harm in our community. The way to heal that damage is to talk about it. Now that Ronnie has died, we're talking about it. This man, (Ronnie) has caused much death and damage throughout the world. We are still living this man's legacy now!

17. When Reagan died ...
... I felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. Neither sadness nor happiness. I just don't care.

I've learned a couple of recipes on the Food Channel, and am working my way through the Richard Clarke book.

But what I won't do is watch any of the sanctification of RR on the news channels.

22. You didn't 'feel' anything about Ronald Reagan dying....
because he was already dead. His spirit and anything that was alive in him died somewhere around 1994. These things, which are generally good in Nature, left him then. What you saw die now was everything that was wrong with Reagan.... the good had already left. My good wishes are left with his family. May they find strength now.

Someone should point out to the Freepers and the cable news that today is the fourth day that Reagan is still dead and has not been ressurected. Thus Reagan is not god

23. ITS BEYOND TERRIBLE. However it has inspired me to shut off the
tube. Quitting TV is like quitting smoking the first few days are the hardest. I actually went 10 years without a TV set, in fact I didn't have a TV during Reagan's entire administration, I never saw the dude on TV. I got all my news from newspapers. But since cable is included with my rent I now watch the damn thing and it is mental herion. So this death works well for me. CNN just lost an obsessive viewer.
