1. ?
Perhaps you could provide a link? Sometimes the credibility of surveys can be called into question with regards to data collection methods, sample size, randomness of sample, margin of error, stratification, etc?

9. Pollkatz reports a summary of many polls.
It is one of the best and most interesting quick references around.

4. Isn't this debate the equivalent of "My Dad Can't Beat Up Your Dad?"
It's stupid.

Anyway, I have a hard time ignoring the fact that Regan got 58.5 percent of the vote in '84 while Clinton never topped 50 percent in either election.

5. Ross Perot wasn't running in 1984
although, even if he weren't running in 1996, Clinton wouldn't have gotten 58 percent. However, he easily would've topped 50 percent.

BTW, the poster's point was approval rating, not margin of victory.

7. And after Ronnies second term I couldn't find a person who voted for him
That was truly amazing. No one would admit to having voted for him they were so mad at the end of his second term.

10. Iran-Contra made a big dent in his approval numbers
He spent much of his second term at 50 percent or below.
