'Stepford Wives' Ad Shows Hillary, Condoleezza In Strange Light

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Some people are saying the way Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice are portrayed in an ad for the new "Stepford Wives" film is distasteful, even outrageous.

The spot shows an image of Rice made to look nude from the waist up, and a picture of Clinton that morphs into what looks like a cookie-baking Stepford wife.

The pictures move across the screen very quickly, but they caught the eye of a Kansas City woman, who recorded the spot to make sure of what she was seeing.

play GWB's wife in the movie? Her Freudian slip referring to him as her "hus..." was beyond creepy. And pathetic. Poor thing. She is a Stepford wife already. Programmed to say and do whatever her "hus..." tells her to do.

4. Some people in the Midwest get the irony.

Ms. Becky, this is satire. See, the point is that these two women are in positions of power in real life. Do you follow? And they are morphed into pin-up gals, every person's dream, at least those threatened by a woman. Do you follow? Thereby, they are relegated to roles having only to do with their sexuality and idealized sex roles. Do you follow? And therefore the powerful women are now sex-buddies and cooks and caretakers. Do you follow?

Ms. Becky, the point of making the images of these two women into breast-enhanced babes is to illustrate the point of the film.

I hope this Concerned Women of America candidate is not for real, oh please. We do not need to have her misguided and uninformed indignation.
