So who will be writing Dubya's speech? |
|
Do you think it will be Karen Hughes?
Or,
Will they call in Peggy Noonan?
It's a heavyweight job so I suspect it will be Peggy's handiwork.
Is there somebody else out there??
What do you think?

1. Both seem to write pretty good fiction.... |
|
...from what I've observed. Maybe Danielle Steele would be available?? Whoever it is, I'm not watching. Think I'll go see "The Day After Tomorrow" again for a glimpse at our future should Dubya lie/cheat/steal his way into a second term.
I remain...the Tired Old Cynic.

6. my money's on Michael Gerson ... |

Dubya won't be able to resist the flowery passages and evangelical imagery, because that's how he thinks a "statesman" speaks.

10. the speeches are a tug-of-war between Hughes and Gerson |
|
It's fun trying to spot who wrote which piece. Karen likes the plain-talking version of Dubya without the "intellectual" vocabulary. Gerson likes the lofty Dubya given to imaginative flights of fancy. (Note that both of these are "media creations" and as fictional as Harry Potter.)
Having no real sense of self, George W. Bush likes whichever version has been presented to him most recently.

I'm counting on Shrub* to mangle / misquote some tired-ass Reagan line we've just heard 3204982304982314203948 times during the worshipfest. Should be good for some kind of "real quote" / "misquote" video.

She's probably been planning for it for fifteen years.
