so did Chaney drag Nancy up to her husband's casket for a photo-op? |
|
The woman's got to be tired, let alone 80 something.
In the Rotunda ceremony, after a procession that echoed those of Kennedy and Johnson for me, and is fitting for a dead president, I expected the evil empire mentions and the prairie to Washington allusions.
Two things surprised me.
The awesome rendition of America the Beautiful...
And, as mentioned in my header, Chaney obviously egging Nancy to let him accompany her to Reagan's casket. She looked around like ??what??, this wasn't on the agenda. She went along, had her own moment and finally, in true Nancy form, shook her head and said this is enough, get me outta here.
Strange moment.
I may have misread it.

She hugged the casket way back in Simi Valley. I doubt she wanted to do it again but te RNC had other ideas.
