by the end of this week. Man, it's really sick to capitalize from tragic events, isn't it?

6. My state is so goddamn embarrassing in recent history
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 12:37 AM by TheWizardOfMudd
Oklahoma was founded as essentially a socialist state. Corporations were forbidden to exist within the borders in the original state constitution.

We had some cool people from OK. Will Rogers. Woody Guthrie.

But now, this state is a fucking plague on the country. We are one of two states that went for Bush in '92 or Dole in '96; I can't remember which. Thank God we have few electoral votes.

Inhofe, Nickles (who apparently is fucking invisible and nonexistent) and fucking Istook. The biggest AM radio station in the state, Clear Channel's KTOK, bashes Kerry during the morning show and follows up with Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, the Kerry-bashing afternoon drive, Hannity and, finally, Savage.

On a positive note, we did elect a Democratic governor over Steve Largent, who is a fucking christian psycho. Maybe there is hope.

Thank you, Vince Gill and Garth Brooks, for keeping your fucking pieholes shut, for whatever reason.

8. One word:

Oil.

Oil took over, and the racists were able to drive a wedge between class interests so that socialist influence was negated.

Have you ever read An Oklahoma I Had Never Seen Before? It's a collection of essays edited by a former professor of mine named Davis Joyce. There's an essay in there about the Wobblies.

7. You know, you may all be surprised to know that
Toby Keith said he didn't think the Iraq war was the right decision a few months ago. I saw it while flipping through the channels and saw him on CMT. Now, I would normally never watch the channel, but he had a little special on...and for some reason I watched a bit. The subject of Iraq came up, and well, some small lightbulb seems to have gone off in his head.

Of course he's probably the type of guy that will still vote for Bush, and maybe write a tribute song about how we totally kicked ass against those menacing Grenadans for Reagan, but I still found that interesting. If someone knows that he's questioning it, maybe a few of his fans will take of their safety helmets and wipe off their drool, and join the rest of the civilized world in recognizing how much of an idiot GW is.

11. i just wanted to add
People don't realize it because of that stupid song, but Toby Keith is a registered Democrat:

http://www.cmt.com/artists/news/1487964/05272004/keith_toby.jhtml

<snip>

But as far as Willie's deal with John Kerry goes, people don't know that I'm a registered Democrat. I'm very conservative, to say, the least, but I'm a registered Democrat, and my family has been all along. I have to go from election to election and pick the guy I believe in -- and vote in my own manner. I vote for the guy who gets the job done.

Doesn't mean he always VOTES Democrat, but he is registered.

14. I've heard this before too
I'm to the point where I don't care what you are, as long as you don't vote for Bush. And I hope he doesn't.

12. He just needs some words that rhyme with "gip"
"Saddam, Osama or Kerry, which one's the biggest pip?"
"G.W. got Saddam, but Kerry woulda let 'im slip"
"bin Laden and John Kerry are joined at the hip"
"The Right kicks terrorist ass, they don't give us no lip"
"A Commie Liberal French-lookin' Prez ain't no better'n a cow chip"
"Vote for Bush, my friends, coz his pants he won't unzip"

"... so c'mon folks, let's win one more for the Gip..."
:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:
