4. You could always deface the suckas
It's illegal, but then again, so was running arms to the Contras and the (enemy) government of Iran.

BTW, the "New Reagan Dollar" graphic is excellent. Why isn't your libbrul subversive ass in national syndication yet?

15. Not that I would do anything illegal
but a red sharpie could draw a circle with a slash through it. I hope they don''t put it on a coin or we'd have to get out our hammers.

6. Let's HOPE they put Reagan's face on the $10 bill
Then I would propose that each liberal make it a nightly habit of taking his or her $10 bills and slightly defacing the image--adding an earring, putting a little red in the eyes, and so on. Eventually, Reagan would be defaced on all $10 bills.

8. What a disgrace.
Devalued currency. It ain't worth the paper it's printed on to me.
Here's a novel idea. Make the bills ketchup red.

9. i have to admit
i'm looking forward to the reagan dime; 8 to 10 should fit nicely into a 12 gauge reload, & i've got a feeling i'm going to need a shitload of those very soon.

perfectly goddam serious, folks. i've just about reached my limit.

10. I Like It...Reminds Us Of Who Drove Us Into Debt...
Soon, we're gonna need constant reminders of how bad and evil living under a Repugnican regime is...and none would be better than staring at Raygun every day and considering what his mug and American currency mean together.

They mean defecits, raiding of the government treasury, economic isolation and destruction of the lower and middle classes, lack of opportunities and corporate greed. Shall I do on?

As someone else noted here, I don't care whose face is on the bill, I either keep 'em in the bank or spend 'em. As long as its legal tender I could care less if Art Linkletter's picture is on them.

I know there are those who are Raygunned to death and this piling on is out of hand, but look at all the polls showing others are picking up on the same thing. There's little public grieving going on outside of the orchestrated show on television. I don't see flags on cars or front lawns, no signs in my heavily Repugnican area saying "Goodbye President Raygun" or any other outward display of grief. And in this area, the silence is deafening.

As I've stated previously, and will again, this is yet another attempt by RoveCo. to keep their "big tent" in line...catering to the natural paranoia of the Repugnicans who know things are going against them in the country and the world right now. Somehow they feel that lionizing Raygun somehow will solve all these problem. Let 'em keep overplaying.

12. If he is put on a ten then I will ask for fives as change.
If he is put on a dime then I will ask for nickles. I, too, REFUSE to honor that man carrying money with his face on it.

They should put it on a five hundred dollar bill because he cared more for those types than the working class anyway.

14. Reagan on the $$ ten will remind people of the 10 million laid off....
My father was one of them as PPG Industries shut down all their retail stores in the US by 1985--my dad was a store manager and had been with PPG for over 22 years. At that time he was 61 years old. To old to apply elsewhere and to young to retire.

How many other millions across the US were put in the exact same situation? How many millions more just flat ass lost a job and were left with nothing?

And they fawn endlessly over Ronnie? His years were not good for my,my family or my dad.

17. My dad lost his job in 1981
We weren't able to sell the house until 1982. Had to move back to the city (which I'm glad of; in the final analysis, I'm glad I didn't grow up in a suburb). We were financially ruined, from what I understand, and my parents almost divorced. It was a tough time, with alcoholism, fighting, depression, etc. My parents were very good about shielding us as much as possible from the really hard consequences, but kids feel them anyway.

Still, stronger. I'm stronger than the people who didn't go through the bad stuff in the 80's by orders of magnitude. So in the end, I'm kind of glad about the way it worked out.

18. Well, there's that clause on each bill...
...that declares them "legal tender for all debts, public and private." I think you're legally required to accept them. I heard U.S. Grant was at least as corrupt as Bush or Reagan, but you don't hear of anybody turning down $50 bills for that reason.

Now, drawing snarky pictures on them - if enough people started doing that, the Powers That Be (TM) might then have to reconsider the wisdom of putting someone so polarizing on the national currency.
