Nightline Changes Program to Ray Charles Tribute
Just got this from ABC.

TONIGHT'S FOCUS: Ray Charles
-------------------------------------------------
Tonight's Nightline will include a profile of his sweeping career and place in musical history from our own resident musical historian: correspondent Dave Marash.

We've just started work on tonight's program, but I promise you this: there will be lots of Ray Charles' music.

The program we had planned for tonight on the Stem Cell Research debate will air another night soon.

We hope you'll join us.

7. Nancy Reagan and the stem cell debate
They'll show that another time... maybe Friday? Or maybe next week, because of the funeral tomorrow.

9. Now here is a life of genuine greatness and
accomplishment that truly is worthy of reflection, remembrance, praise, celebration, appreciation, reverance, recognition, emulation, etc., etc., etc.
And mourned, for our great loss.

11. In the interests of the preservation of democracy and to ensure the
dissemination of the truth about the travails of bush* ...no other freakin' notables are permitted to die until after the election!

I love you, Ray...when you sang "America the Beautiful" I could almost believe it. It's not that I don't want to see this covered, but why don't they bump some bullshit like "Survivor" instead of a news program?

13. Because the purpose of television is to sell product,
not programs. Nightline is an appropriate venue for Ray's passing.
If only we could have a week of tribute to Ray Charles, with all of the emphasis that is being given Reagan. Ray Charles did far more for humanity than did Ronald Reagan (or most politicians).
Poor George, can't get a break. People keep dying, who make him look so small in comparison.

14. All Ray, All the Time,
instead of all Raygun all the time.
