Please forgive me. I have TV off.Missed the Bush* manic press
conference. Could I ask:
1) How did the manic state show?
2) Did he smack Gregory down?
3) Where can I get to view this "press whatever"

THANKS and I apologize for being disconnected but I am curious. I looked at the very long thread on this but could not find a real description.

2. I saw the whole thing
I'm usually able to give a run-down on these kinds of performances however today's was so remarkable in it's own bizzaro kind of way that I was too distracted by the oddness of it. I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea of what he was talking about. The few clips I've seen so far in the media certainly do not do it justice. They are well edited.

3. Bump! and a LOL!
I didn't see it either, but it sounds like the same old drill amplified exponentially.

4. No, I think it was different from the usual --

It wasn't about just being inarticulate, or ill-informed. He seemed to try to make a joke out of calling on each reporter, and then make a joke of the "cleverness" of his answers. He didn't hem and haw so much -- just came out with a quick, sure answer, whatever it was. It's hard to describe, but there was just a kind of manic tone throughout. I'm going to check C-Span's site, and see if they've scheduled a rerun.

On edit: Nothing on CSpan yet, but a poster in another thread reports MSNBC has something up, but the poster so far hasn't been able to get it to play --

6. I got the link to the print version of the interview. But...I just could
not read it...my head started spinning... nothing made sense. And you are saying his answers were sure... but I had to quit. I was dizzy. I think with all this crappola surrounding us EVERYWHERE I am growing dumber by the minute. I used to be able and think rationally. Not anymore...sad..

8. HE seemed sure of the answers, I thought...

and the print transcript doesn't seem very helpful in conveying the tone of the press conference.

ON EDIT: Finally, a clip that shows some of the tone, just now from CNN. Asked something about what happened when the summit attendees disagreed, "We all go to different corners of the room and face the wall -- No, tee-hee, tee-hee --"

7. I kept waiting for Krusty the Klown to appear.
Or at least Sideshow Bob. There's being witty, and then there's being goofy. Wit is appropriate for all occasions. Goofiness is not.
