Mulroney of Canada (the phony) on with Wolf loving Reagan on CNN |
|
Did anyone just see the scintillating interview Wolfie just did with Mulroney?....He was Canada's Prime Minister for a time during the Reagan years and spent his time sucking up to Reagan and trying to convince Canadians Reagan loved us....Wolfie treated him as if he was a beloved Canadian leader, when actually we despised him so much for the policies he brought in that we almost decimated his Progressive Conservative party in the election of '94... It is revolting watching all this revising that is going on in the media......:puke:

1. This is the first time I've kicked one of my posts |
|
but I just feel so strongly that there is SUCH a dishonest coverage of Reagan's death that I had to post this....It's another instance of pretending that something is what is is not....Reagan was NOT a big hero in Canada, despite what Mulroney said....and in the election of '94 all Progressive Conservatives were defeated except for TWO!....All I have seen is revisionism, since the day Reagan died....He was an amiable, old dunce....PERIOD!

2. Mulroney sleazed his way into the Oval Office ... |
|
Almost as soon as W was installed in there, Brian had set up a nice little meeting. (I think this was even before the REAL Prime Minister had a chance to visit.) I suspect that Brian is feeding information to the White House -- I know of at least 2 occasions where W has made nasty verbal quips at Canadian visitors (the jibe at JC about the fishing trips, and his insinuation that Martin's aide is gay, mistaking him for Scott Brison?). He isn't interested/connected enough with Canada to have that insider knowledge.

3. Precisely! Reagan is about as loved in Canada as Mulroney. |
|
And that ain't saying much.

6. Remember when Reagan told us acid rain was caused by TREES? |
|
He was responding to protestors in Ottawa when he was on a visist..We all had a good laugh over that, but I bet no American reporters told their viewers what he had said!

7. Reagan addressed the Canadian Parliament twice. The first time, |
|
the NDP members wore black armbands to protest his Central American policy. The second, a number of them heckled him with cries of "He's mad!" and "No Star Wars!"
Reagan was not popular here, but compared to how Bush is regarded....

8. I'm surprised that Mulroney didn't crawl into the coffin with Reagan.... |
|
come to think of it, too bad he didn't. They both did so much damage to their respective countries, they deserve to be buried together.

9. lol - so gruesome, and so true. |

I cringed daily at the thought that he was our Prime Minister. What a ruinous embarassment he was.
