1. sigh
The Right will of course learn the wrong lesson from this. Rather than questioning the legitimacy of the occupation and the war they will use it as yet more "evidence" that women should not be in the military.

4. Lori Piestewa had kids, too

NAME: Pfc. Lori Piestewa

AGE: 23

UNIT: 507th Army Maintenance Unit, a unit assigned to 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade

HOMETOWN: Tuba City, Arizona

FAMILY: Son, Brandon, 4; daughter, Carla, 3; mother, Terry; father, Percy

DETAILS: When her unit was ambushed in Iraq, this mother of two and American Indian soldier fought back, a congressman said. She was buried April 12 in the Hopi Reservation.

Full story here.

No insult intended to the McCabes and Hobarts, of course ...

PFC Piestewa was Jessica Lynch's buddy.

Yep ... lots of mommies and daddies aren't coming home. And there's a whole lot more dead people in Iraq, too.

6. Probably heat related.. remember last year??
Several young soldiers "died in their sleep" or "collapsed"..

125 degree heat with short water rations is not a good combination.

A little off topic, but how are Jimmy and the rest of his unit? Are they still in Germany, or were they sent back to the war?

on edit: I haven't kept up with them since they went back to Germany.

8. He goes back next week, I think..
I talked to his Mom & Dad while we were all in Vegas, but they did not know the exact date..

When they rotate back, I'll see if people want to do the care package thing again ..
