The GOP Hypocrisy Continues

Group Sex and denigration of women is abhorrent....unles you want to be the governor of California.

Marriage is sacred....unless you're the mouthpiece of the conservative movement...or Newt Gingrich...or Henry Hyde.

Gambling is destructive...but as long as you're not using the "milk money" your moral compass is somehow okay.

Small government is good...unless homosexuals want to marry, then we must have a constitutional amendment to ban it. And we shall add a Department of Homeland Security, which will NOT be used to spy on and harass political opponents.

We must not interfere with the business of other nations...unless you have an old score to settle.

We love our military and appreciate their sacrifice...until they ask to be taken care of when they bring their shattered bodies home.

We must all sacrifice in this titanic struggle against evildoers...unless you're really rich.

We won't leave any child behind...but we won't pay so they can keep up with us.

Freedom of Speech is sacred...unless you criticize the administration, then you can be indicted for violating something euphemistically called the "Patriot" Act.

Military service is honored...unless you're Max Cleland or John Kerry.

Electronic voting machines are safe...the manufacturer's CEO is one of my biggest boosters. All is well, move along.

We don't need the UN or NATO to help us out of the Iraqi quicksand...but could you send some troops, please?

The politics of personal destruction are not welcome in the Republican Party...only on talk radio.

There is no right wing media bias...is that clear? Do we need to send someone over to your house so it can be fully "explained"?

American citizens are protected by all the laws and rights granted in the Consatitution...unless you are a suspected evildoer. Then we can hold you for as long as we want and not tell anyone.


My friends, to quote Shakespeare..."what's fair is foul and what's foul is fair."

This will get worse before it gets better, but get better it will. Don't get discouraged, don't pay attention to the media, and don't rest until the election is over. I'll see you on the third as we celebrate the election of John Kerry and, to paraphrase Gerald Ford,

"our long national nightmare will be over."
